We are a travel blogging couple dedicated to helping people overcome the fears of travel while documenting our trip around the world in 2019.
From the old city walls of Dubrovnik to the fortresses of Rijeka, these places had amazing light displays that were insane. Average hotel prices: $50 to $120 USD per night (310kn to 740kn) Average hotel prices: $50 to $100 USD per night (310kn to 618kn) Rijeka was by far our favorite town to feel the holiday spirit. The people of Croatia recognize that few people outside of Croatia know how to speak the language, so many learn English as a second language.
Long-term travel differs greatly from a short-term trip. Long-term Travel: With more time available, it is easier to find free or low-cost lodging options. Long-term Travel: After many months of long-term travel we will see enough cathedrals, monuments, castles, and beaches that sightseeing will not be as much of a priority. Long-term Travel: While we travel long-term, we like to try local cuisine, but we balance that with our health.
While we didn’t quite make it out to the Cat Island, we saw many wandering with us along the Philosopher’s Path, and we made a point to visit a couple of cat cafes in Tokyo. Cat cafes are one of my favorite aspects of the Japanese culture, but I also love the traditional kimono, daily behaviors, and spiritual rituals. Onsen are natural hot springs, sentou are public bath houses (often confused with onsen), and ryokan are traditional hotels often located at onsen. Our trip kept us mostly to the cities, so we didn’t get to visit a true onsen, but we did spend a couple of nights at a ryokan in Kyoto, and we spent my birthday at a sentou in Odaiba (though it’s labeled as an onsen given its spa-like setup).
While I took many quick trips around the USA as a kid and young adult, it took me 38 years of life to travel internationally. I took the typical path of getting college degrees, working my way up the ranks of the corporate world, and feeling unhappy. In our new membership, we want to share our expertise in a focused forum dedicated to your progress so you can actually ACHIEVE this new lifestyle and not just dream about it. Travel has made me more compassionate towards others, given me hope in the human race, taught me more about myself than I ever knew, and fostered new friendships all over the world.
