Spring Pond Care Essential Tasks Every Pond Needs!!

Mother Nature has a fantastic way of preparing her natural bodies of water for each new season by flooding waterways with fresh rains and melting snow, recycling old water out and refreshing it with new. Ponds with Advanced life support systems including aeration systems, UV clarifiers, Bio-Mechanical filters, Back Flushable Waterfall Filters, bottom drains, settlement tanks and such; the SPRING POND CARE procedures are much less painful and cost substantially less than traditional rock and gravel eco-system ponds. Water Treatment Evaluation โ€“ Beneficial Bacteria, Barley Straw Extract, Algae Fix, Koi Clay, Flocculant, Pond Salt, and the list goes on. You might find that when your Koi attain 18โ€ you can reduce algae care products because an 18โ€ Koi can eat a serious amount of string algae!

As The Pond Turns

Somehow, in some way, the fish know that winter is approaching, and this is their last chance to store food in their cells for the season of starvation. Of course, I know that you arenโ€™t going to starve your fish, and YOU know youโ€™re not going to starve your fish, but every little molecule in their bodies is telling them that if they donโ€™t have some fat reserves, they wonโ€™t see the next spring. Now, Iโ€™m not saying I want you to dump extra handfuls of food in at night when you get home from work, but if you could find some time in the coming days to feed more frequently, that will be the ticket. Check out our cold temperature bacteria & cold temperature food for the cold season coming up!!

National Squirrel Appreciation Day

Squirrels are incredibly smart, and she quickly learned that if she cornered one of the staff, and threatened them with her tiny teeth, bouncing in their direction, they would usually throw food to distract her, while they made their escape. I could see this was soon going to be disastrous, with customers and employees alike being tormented by this tiny, but fierce, fluffy-tailed warrior, so I ordered everyone to quit feeding her from their pockets. In order to better torment employees and guests alike, she would leap off of trees, fences, even low roofs, squealing her outrage, tail on full alert, in an attempt to get the humans to throw food and run.
