Who remembers this classroom furniture flip from 2 years ago when I was helping my daughter @lessonsbymeag set up her new classroom?? I love finding previously loved items and giving them a little glow up. This mailbox/cubby was in great shape and was so sturdy but needed a little cosmetic surgery by Dr. Fancy Nancy 🤓 This was definitely labor of love but so worth it! When you go to Japan thinking you’ll lose weight because you averaged about 20,000 steps a day but… Experiencing some serious withdrawals right now… You saw me eat my way through Japan for 2 weeks and continued to demand more food content. 😂 This Reel template needs to be longer to showcase all the yummy things ate, but here’s a short little glimpse. Special thanks to @teaching3rdwithmrg @carolynbarrettsumner and @rhwarrenjr who were great sports about trying new things (giving them a shoutout even if they called me a food bully) 😂😂😂 I was really proud of them for stepping out of their comfort zone and trying things like uni pasta, strawberry tanghulu, cheese coins, eel sushi, takoyaki (squid balls), prawn crackers, red bean donuts, chicken yakitori (that we later discovered were chicken hearts, liver, and gizzard), udon, ramen, roasted sweet potatoes, frozen white peaches, curry tonkatsu, tamagoyaki, crab croquette, and onigiri, ALL the 7-Eleven ice creams!! I’m drooling while typing this! Thank you @bookbagtours for this unforgettable trip! I can’t wait to eat my through Korea next summer!! Who’s in?! Let’s go!

This “web of life” has been a tradition for over 2 decades and I choke up with tears every single time... as we pass the yarn, we thank a classmate and say something they appreciate about them.⠀ ⠀ I always try my best not to cry but always fail. Making a Marble Run is the perfect end of the year activity! (These photos are from previous years but I put an “edumacational” twist on it this year. I’ll share it soon) ⠀ Students will work in small groups to plan together, come up with a theme, decide on what graphics to add, determine an end goal (maybe even with some prizes) and will show off their creativity by creating a marble run! They will draw the tracks using a ruler and pencil, then use white glue to add the straw tracks. ⠀ I always love seeing the excitement on their faces when they watch their classmates try their maze. #ad Inspired by the power of story, The Willesden Project from @uscshoahfoundation and @holdontoyourmusic combines testimony, technology, and music to teach the universal themes of resilience and hope.  The Legacy and Friendship IWalk provided a great opportunity to learn about friendship and hope during the most challenging of times and circumstances. My class took virtual walks using the interactive 360* VR technology, listened to the powerful testimonies from people who lived through the events of WWII, and answered questions as we went along to deepen the connections to our personal stories. You can choose the activity type, language, subject, the author, and the grade level.
