👰🏻Janell booked with me for bridal makeup back in February and she also opted in to my skincare optimization program (complimentary for r a limited time when booking package minimum) 🧴After first seeing a medical professional for some skin issues she was experiencing, Janell and I got straight to work with a full deep dive into healing her skin. ✨We also addressed other goals she had once her skin was healed like improving skin texture, hydration and anti-aging while making sure to avoid products or techniques that might work counterproductive to her sensitive skin. 🌷Once I had all the data I needed, I was able to recommended a routine specific to her goals, monetary budget and time budget. 🤩And I have to give it to Janell, she was amazingly diligent consistent with her routine! You were absolutely right that my blush and lip colors needed more pop for the photos.” This feedback I got from my second to last bride of the season who wanted who preferred a minimalist approach to their bridal makeup — challenge accepted! She’s beautiful and took great care (GREAT care!) of her skin. I can see why she didn’t want to cover it up and I don’t blame her. The trick is to find the right balance between looking and feeling beautiful in person and having that look translate well into photos. The most simple yet high impact approach can be with choosing a pop of color for lips and cheeks for a natural and fresh ‘just pinched’ look Don’t be afraid to play with a bit of color!

🍌It’s bananas how powerful lighting can be! 👀Notice how this ONE look translates as quite bold in color on the eyes and lips — to a softer, more classic glam look — and then into almost a ‘no makeup’ makeup look?! 💡One of my jobs as a bridal MUA is to figure out how I can make a look transition from day to night with minimal effort and upkeep for the bride. 👉This is why the practice preview (aka the trial) is SO important. ☀️🌙The look not only has to translate well in different lighting scenarios but look fresh during the date and develop into an evening look 🔑You definitely want your look to be softer during the day and bolder at night and finding that balance is key

Beauty is often towards the end of the list and they wait until the last minute (which these days is 6 months or less) to book then brides are left scrambling around If you plan to get married here in the San Juan islands, it’s recommended to start booking the rest of your vendors as soon as you get your venue squared away! Fellow vendors, am I right??? 👉Securing local vendors means: - You will not have to worry about paying full day rates, full day location fees, ferry tickets and excessive travel fees - Feel secure knowing your vendor will be there for you on your big day and not at the mercy of late or cancelled ferries - Feel secure about who you are hiring due to local vendors knowing each other really well and working together really well to make your day a success Book now…..
