It's a fun Ride!
If you have been watching me on YouTube for any length of time you know that from time to time I build something wild and crazy. On this occasion, I choose to build 3 dinosaurs, more specifically velociraptors that are attached to each other and run around side by side
Here’s what’s going on in the workshop: I launched my new IzzySwan.com website this weekend. You’ll find new videos, woodworking projects, inventions, woodworking plans, and tools at the new website from now on. As you can probably tell, it’s been a pretty full week, and next week is looking full as well, so: enjoy your Sunday, check out the website, and I’ll catch you all again soon. Make sure you’re subscribed to my main channel for my regular videos (2-3 times weekly) and my second channel for the Mega Maker Show (every Saturday night).
To make the turn table I needed a right angle drive and found a 40:1 right angle gear reduction on eBay. With just a simple router sled I was able to very quickly plane the surface of an oak slab using as surfacing router bit. I have spent a fair amount of time over the years using a router sled on end grain cutting board and log cut off and am kicking myself for not trying this sooner the amount of time saved this way is huge. After playing with the surfacing application I also dished out a small bowl very quickly and experimented with setting the sled at an angle to create sloped profiles which also worked really well.
