Secondly, get the best deals on your travel money: Book in advance to get discounts on your flight and accommodation costs; consider travelling during off-peak times of the year (when flights and hotel rooms are usually cheaper); and use your air points and voucher codes for extra discounts. Of course it’s rich coming from us, having been inseparable for the last four years, but we have many solo travelling friends who are never shy to share the benefits of solo travel with us; like never having to make any compromises, doing what they want, when they want, without having to worry about anybody else. Travelling solo isn’t easy, so if this is your excuse, consider what we have said, and use these solo travel tips to help you…and then consider our final point: There may be all kinds of ‘what if’ fears holding you back. This way, you could get off at the first stop, walk along the entire beach (or mix it up and walk along the promenade for a section too – make sure to pick up a vegan Ben & Jerry’s ice cream), and then catch the next bus at the North Bondi stop. If you’re looking for some quality toes-in-the-sand time but without the crowds (which you would’ve gotten plenty of during your time on Bondi), then the dog-friendly harbour beach known as Rose Bay might be the best stop for you. If you wanted to partner your bus tour with a scenic ferry ride too, this would also be a great stop, as the ferry to Circular Quay would offer you unbeatable views of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, and the family-friendly harbour beach that hugs the wharf will introduce you to this carefree life, but it’s not until you walk along The Corso (a short pedestrian street across the peninsula) to oceanfront Manly Beach, where you’ll truly understand the meaning of carefree,
For something modern…visit the Prague Manifesto – a new gastro pop-up market, offering everything from craft beer and cider, to art stalls and heated igloos…yes, igloos – ones you can rent out for a couple hours for just 150 CZK (US$6) per person (or an entire igloo for groups of 7 for 899 CZK – approximately US$40). For centuries, monks have been brewing the St Thomas beer, and after the Communist government interrupted brewing for 58 years, the original recipe was handed to the Augustine Luxury Collection Hotel where it is now served exclusively in the cellar of the original St Thomas Brewery. A visit to Prague (whether it’s your first or umpteenth time) would not be complete without a little sightseeing, and with the winter breeze and (holding thumbs you get to have the) light sprinkle of snow, there’s really no better time to see this spellbinding city, filled with architecture from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque eras. We spent three nights exploring all seven of the historical buildings, and between the private church library adjoined to the Baroque St. Thomas Church and 13th century Augustine monastery, and the delicious St Thomas dark beer sold exclusively in the brewery bar, we found it very difficult to leave.
Book a night (or more if you can) at the Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa, as sleeping in one of their private Bedouin tent suites can easily go down as a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list experience, not to mention the array of activities that come included in your package – such as private dinners in the desert, Arabian horse rides, and breakfast on your terrace with (unplanned) Arabian gazelle visitors #truestory. Our 3-hour excursion on our private yacht gave us great views of the city, all whilst enjoying the sunshine, fresh air, and delicate spray of the Arabian Gulf, making it the most outdoor-loving way to view the world-famous city skyline. As the UAE is not that big, we thought we’d include some additional outdoor-loving experiences outside of Dubai, that might lure you into a neighboring Emirate: Ride through Big Red in Al Badayer Desert – in Sharjah Spot flamingos at the Al Zorah Nature Reserve – in Ajman See the great 80 million year old Fossil Rock – in Sharjah Go looking for birds and tropical mammals at Wasit Nature Reserve – in Sharjah If you enjoyed this blog post, you may want to follow our journey on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, browse our online photography shop, or get yourself a copy of our TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD eBook.
