First and foremost, thank you so much for all your kind words about our pregnancy announcement on Monday! I haven’t been feeling very well these past few months and it was such a happy day to get to share the news with all of you. I was also so surprised to learn how many of you are also pregnant and due around the same time — I even messaged with a couple women who have the exact same due date! It made me that much more grateful to have connected with so many of you over the years
I’ve been counting down the days and weeks until I could share our big news and the day is finally here: we’re having a baby! ! ! I was absolutely shocked when it said positive and tried to let the news sink in before taking a second test a couple hours later. For the first three months, I was so terrified that something would go wrong and I counted down the days between doctor’s appointments when we could be reassured that the baby was healthy and progressing nicely. I was so thankful to finally make it out of the first trimester a couple weeks ago and be able to share the news with more of our family and friends!
We didn’t really have a ton of decor for our wedding outside of our flower arrangements, but if you’re wondering about flatware or hurricanes, I personally prefer silver! If you’re visiting for the day, I’d stroll down Greenwich Avenue and then spend the afternoon at Tod’s Point. We left for our honeymoon two weeks after our wedding which gave us some time to get home from Nantucket and unpack and pack our bags before the long trip to South Africa. I think it’s so important to have an open and ongoing dialogue with your partner to make sure you’re both on the same page or to figure out how to get there if you’re on two different timelines right now.
I’m excited to shine a spotlight on my amazing mom today! If you read this interview with her and my dad about their work with A Better Chance, you already know that she has a heart of gold and endless energy when it comes to the people and projects she cares about. With her birthday next week and Mother’s Day next month, I wanted to gift her a few goodies from Mark & Graham, which we both love shopping for monogrammed accessories and home decor
