If it has been a while since you’ve prayed, and you find yourself distant from God, here are 5 daily prayers you can start with. These ideas are roughly based on a short post written by YouVersion, so huge shout-out to them for inspiring these thoughts!Pray for God to be KnownThere These 5 simple prayers are great ways to grow your relationship with God, and give you a good idea of things to pray over when you feel uncertain. I hope these daily prayers provided you with encouragement, and gave you ways to direct your focus on the many ways God is working in our lives.
We all spend so much of our time and energy on these things, which is important, but we need to remember that nothing is more important than devoting our life to God. When we go through moments like these where we are so focused on living our best lives, we need to take a moment to step back and realize that as long as we have God in our hearts, we are already living the best life we can get. This is definitely one of my favorite things to do because not only is it relaxing, but it gets you thinking and puts your focus on Jesus. It’s so important to keep our thoughts filled with Him and all He has to offer rather than staying too occupied with what goes on in our daily lives.
God has you here for a reason, and the proof of how much you are loved is written all over the Bible. These things are more common than you know, but if you focus on the love Jesus has for you it gets easier and easier. We cannot go through life without God, so do not exclude Him from your hard times because He wants to heal you!Worship - Music can make you feel so much better, and praise is one of the best ways to remind yourself about God’s never-ending love. Read your Bible - Sometimes when our life gets hectic, we let our Bibles collect a little dust.
I periodically will go weeks without using social media, and it makes me overall much happier, so consider doing the same! When we compare ourselves to other people, it’s like letting them become dictators of our self-worth. God created us in His perfect image, so it’s important to remember that our self-worth comes from above and not from others. Sometimes we just need to keep our most precious moments to ourselves and closest family/friends because there’s just something so special about not sharing every detail of the lives God gives us. So every time you start to compare yourself, take a moment to pray and remember that you were worth Jesus to God.
