Liam McEwan (22) is a presenter/host and social media personality from Auckland, New Zealand. He currently resides in Los Angeles after being picked up by Bauer Xcel Media to work with J-14 Magazine, In Touch Weekly, Life and Style Weekly, and Closer Weekly, with a focus on
celebrity interviews, music, entertainment, and social media.
McEwan started his radio career at age 13 in 2009 with a radio show on The Flea FM.
Over the years, his show gained an international listener base, with numbers ranging
from 45,000 - 65,000 each week. This made his New Zealand-based show the most
listened to show on a community station worldwide. After his win for Best Radio Host
at the Shorty Awards, the New Zealand Herald named McEwan 'New Zealand's third
most influential Tweeter' and dubbed him 'Radio DJ of the year.’
After being scouted by iHeartRadio New Zealand , McEwan left The Flea FM in 2013 to pursue
his radio career at iHeart, where he helped launch the brand in New Zealand through
developing the radio station 'Ultimate Access,’ reaching teens worldwide. Scouted
again, this time by Bauer Media , Liam left iHeartRadio in 2015 to pursue his career in
America.
Liam currently interviews at the Billboard Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards,
VMAs, American Music Awards, MTV Movie & TV Awards, and any other event where a
red carpet is rolled out.
Over his career, Liam has interviewed and mingled with stars such as Elton John, Britney
Spears, the Jackson family, Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, and many more. On top of that, he has
recently tapped in to the K-Pop world, and is a fan-favorite interviewer for fans worldwide after
his many interviews with K-Pop megastars, BTS. This recent spike in his fandom has been
upping his social media numbers and he currently has a social media following of over 250K,
from Twitter and Instagram.
Liam’s little victories : Britney Spears told Liam, word-for-word, “Oh my god, I love
your hair. I’m jealous!” Camila Cabello told Liam he was a “cutie,” and Ariana Grande
called him “charming.” Not bad, huh?
