It’s been an emotional 24-48 hours to say the least. Let’s be real, it’s been an emotional 4 weeks. I’ve been struggling since this whole quarantine thing started with wondering if our dream wedding was even going to happen. I was on pins and needles trying to figure out what to do. Do we just cancel, find a courthouse, and call it a day? Do we get married now? Do we postpone? I was so torn emotionally. Plus, we have the added *joy* of dealing with the military & their regulations. (if you know, you know 😂) I seriously haven’t been able to sleep for the past 4-6 weeks. The idea that our dream wedding was slipping through our hands and out of our control felt seriously surreal. The day we had been planning for almost 2 years now. I was even the most sad about not getting to wear my dream wedding dress! But the other day, we finally made a decision to postpone until late summer. It’s so weird to see a new wedding date on our wedding website, but I am so thankful we made this decision. I had a whole vision of how my summer would go as a married woman, but as the saying goes “We plan, God laughs.” I’m now looking at this time I have as extra time to plan, extra time to be with friends and family (since I’ll be moving as soon as we get married) and extra time to get things done that I want to get done before getting married. Yes, I am sad beyond belief, but our vendors have been incredible & we are still getting married! August 21st can’t come sooner! Do you know what the OLFACTORY SYSTEM is? It’s probably one of my favorite systems in the human body. Your olfactory system is your sense of smell. It is one of the most intricate systems in the body, because it’s so highly connected to the brain. What is so special about the olfactory system is that it helps create memory through smell. Think about it...how many times have you smelled something, and were instantly taken back to a moment in time? Since I’m such a huge olfactory system nerd, I knew I wanted to find a fragrance specially for my wedding that I would only wear on my wedding + anniversaries. I was in a local boutique one day, and came across the 016 fragrance from @hyde_alchemy. Literally from the second I smelled it, I knew that was my fragrance. Creating memory through senses is so important to me. Just by smelling this fragrance, I can envision what I hope my wedding day looks like, and I know years down the road, I will smell it and be reminded of June 20, 2020. I also love that I’m supporting local with this fragrance too! So do I just stop making whipped coffee after quarantine or is this my life now? #ForHairThatDemandsAttentiongiftedme Ok honestly though, let’s talk quarantine schedules now. I’ll be honest, the only thing I have planned out perfectly right now is my hair wash day. @johnfriedaus sent me their Dry Shampoo which has been a GOD SEND. I watched a video a few months ago all about how to stretch your hair wash days out by at least 2 weeks. With my hair type, I could DEFINITELY do that. But I always felt like I had events where I wanted my hair to look somewhat nice, so I never got around to fully training it. Well, now I have all the time in the world and no where to go. I’ve been using this dry shampoo daily, and I already notice my hair is able to go way longer in between washes. This dry shampoo is perfect if you are the girl who HATES the feeling of traditional dry shampoos. It’s a little lighter, but still good for those of us who could spray the whole can with no issues. Anyone else feel like their skin hasn’t been cooperating, even though you’re not wearing any makeup? I thought for sure my skin would be glowing and radiant during this quarantine by not putting any makeup on + spending more time on my routine. That hasn’t been the case for me 😅 however, I started incorporating sheet masks into my routine & I think I’m a believer now! I used to be TOTALLY anti sheet mask, but with this new found time I have on my hands I’m starting to love them. These sheet masks were sent to me by @maskeraidebeauty and I have loved them!
