With a few days notice, we decided we desperately needed a change of scene and booked 4 nights in Oxford. This time, we used their Family Fun Break deal which was 4 nights for the price of 3 with breakfast and dinner included. We couldn’t go into the giraffe house and we were quickly moved on from main viewing points for the big animals to avoiding crowds. We spent the remaining 2 days exploring the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside and also went swimming for the first time post lockdown at the Better leisure centre in Witney which was brilliant fun.

It’s £11 for kids under 12 years and £13.50 for all other ages. Roam as a ranger for £12 – £20 for children (depending on which pass you go for) whilst accompanying adults can explore for £5. £7.95 for children up to 11 years, and £9.95 for all other ages. From video games, driving simulators to sports games of air hockey and basketball hoops, you can enjoy the games arcade for £1-2 per token.

Its on a quiet road on a bit of a hill close to the Vltava River and the Botanical Gardens which are worth a visit. * Eat at the Výtopna Railway Restaurant – Václavské náměstí: a restaurant where a model train brings your drinks to the tables! If you are taking a buggy, one with small wheels isn’t ideal on the cobbled stone floors so a buggy with larger wheels would be a smoother ride for your child and your wrists!

We were there during a damp October half term weekday and the amazing indoor facility was absolutely packed with bigger kids. it really is an endless supply – and with great views of the city and a giant ball pit for the kids to burn off all the sugar, it was a brilliant 70-minute activity. It’s an amazing sight from far away and the best way to see it is to book a tour. Located right next to the Willemsbrug bridge, Villa Zebra is a beautiful indoor play museum.
