True story. I haven’t posted in forever because my old phone was ruining my life and constantly out of storage and had frustratingly bad photo quality. I finally broke down and upgraded and my life has instantly changed for the better. I’m back!!! So where to begin? I went to beautiful Puerto Rico a few months ago. My first time in the Carribbean did not disappoint. A few of my faves: Meals: @bacoapr (dreamy farm setting and wood fired meats), El Pescador (our best seafood & mofongo of the trip) Beaches: Luquillo for the pina colada kioskos (swipe for 🍍), La Poza del Obispo in Arecibo for the impressive waves Cocktail: everything at @hiedrapr, the rum tour at @rondelbarrilito Vibes: The Cannon Club at @thegalleryinn in Old San Juan 🦜 My advice? Soak up Old San Juan but don’t skip on the chance to rent a car and explore the rest of the island. Eat the mofongo. As you can see, stoke levels were high. 😂 This is a kid-friendly 1.5 mile loop that is so much fun for snowshoeing or skiing. Hobbes passed away on October 18. It was sudden and the grief has been intense. He was everything to me. (And Ben, too.) That little dog was my shadow for the last 10.25 years. My home office co-worker, my road trip co-pilot. I lost count of the number of flights he took with us, not to mention the miles logged in the RV. Eventually, I hope I can get to a place where I can remember the good times, like this photo from last fall, taken when we were dry camping outside of Crested Butte. It’s about time I share some photos from our most recent route! I was a little intimidated about visiting Banff because all reservable campsites in the park seemed to be booked up months and months in advance. But the good news is that Banff and Jasper National Parks have plenty of first come, first served campsites, too. We were able to snag a last minute spot at Tunnel Mountain for one night, which was SO close to Banff Town, where we worked for the day. Then we headed to Waterfowl Lakes campground, a beautiful, spacious spot that is perfectly located for exploring the Icefields Parkway. We moved down to the spot in this photo (📍Protection Mountain Campground) for the night to check out what all the fuss is about at Lake Louise. A scene that I will never forget: the oh-so-snowy ceremonial start to the 50th run of @theiditarod in @visitanchorage. Congrats to Brent Sass and his team for the victory, Aqayauq Reitan for carrying the Red Lantern, and all the finishers for completing an epic quest. Sunset at @blackcanyonnps. Have you visited this, dare I say it, underrated park? We referred to it as the slightly emo little brother of the Grand Canyon. The colors on the steep canyon walls are just so moody! We enjoyed camping in the park and hiking along the rim trails before exploring the nearby town of Montrose. A few scenes from around Jackson, WY during our visit a few weeks ago… 1 - I LOVE @tetontiger. The street ribs, dumplings, and duck lo mein were the perfect apres snowshoeing meal. 2 - that soda shop ambience at @jacksondrug. 3 - the miso butter lobster shrimp and grits at @jhkitchen was 🤯🤯🤯. 4 - the @milliondollarcowboybar, legendary for a reason.
