I added another trip to the itinerary so I can celebrate with those who couldn't make it to Vegas and had the best time! Whoa! It's been a minute. Excuse the disappearance but this past month has been a MONTH! Let me catch you up to speed... 1. In April, I took a leap of faith and left a company after 4 years to pursue what I am truly passionate in. July I received a promotion from said new position which was the fastest promotion in the history of the company. This promotion brings added responsibility and some later nights but overall thankful for the opportunity. 😊 2. Yesterday marked 2 months before I say I Do and while I have things in order, I am terrified that I may have left something out. Checklists and checklist for my checklists have been viewed over daily to make sure everything is perfect. I've never had this much anxiety in my life but I guess that is my fault for not delegating and trying to take this on all by myself. I'm still looking for a second makeup artist for the big day and haven't been the most successful. Apparently my day is popular 😳 Any recommendations would be truly helpful and appreciated. NY/NJ preferably. 3. I've been working on revamping my lip-care business @pout.lipline and about to relaunch soon as well as finalizing a few other business ventures. 🤞🏽 4. Taking care of a super active 2 year old who is extra clingy to his mommy from the moment I walk in until the moment he goes to sleep. I love it but it can be a bit much lol. I'm sure my mama friends out there can understand. 5. Above all I've been dealing with the audacity of some people. I've been really trying to take the high road and not say anything but then I am reminded of a post I seen a while ago which says and I quote "You've been humble for too long. It's time to wyle out!" I felt this and will probably start putting this into motion. It is never ok to allow anyone (friend, stranger, or family ) act funny style with you. You have to check them most expeditiously! (T.I. vocab) Other than that, sis has been a bit busy and needed some time away to get her head right. Breaks are most definitely necessary! Get you a BFF who knew the assignment and ACED! ✨ When I started planning my wedding I KNEW I wanted a bridal shower but then I got discouraged. I didn't want anyone to feel obligated or pressured to do an event for me that I could just do myself. I got lost in that train of thought and told my BFF of 25 plus years that I didn't want a shower. ✨ She was sad, maybe upset a little to hear this BUT she made sure that she took my bridal shower theme and turn it into a reality someway shape or form. It was the research, love, and support for me that had me in tears once I got home from such a magical time spent with her. ✨ Bride in Bloom was the theme and judging from the pictures... ⚠️ Long Post ⚠️ Morning Instafam! Let's talk Atopic Dermatitis aka Eczema! When I was pregnant with my Squishy I was praying that he didn't get this trait as my fiance and myself has to deal with it. We thought we were in the clear as he showed no signs of having eczema after his first birthday. It was the morning of his 2nd birthday lurking behind his knees was a red, scaly rash. I showed it to future hubby and we both said "oh no"! 🙄 Eczema is a common skin condition which is marked by itchy and inflames patches of skin. It is often seen in babies and young children. Many adults (such as myself) struggle with eczema as well. Now keep in mind their are three types of eczema. 1. Contact (caused by contact with irritants. Burning, itching, and redness occur) 2. Dyshidrotic (affect fingers, palms of the hands and soles of feet. This is more common in women) 3. Nummular (dry, round patches of skin in the winter months. Usually affects the legs and more common in men) 🙄 The cause of eczema is not fully understood but it is believed to be triggered by an overactive immune system that doesn't respond the best when exposed to irritants. Because there is no specific test that can be used to diagnose eczema nor is their a cure of it, treatment is usually on a trial and error basis and can be effectively managed. 🙄 My main concern is that my baby boy doesn't have the same feeling as I did during the times where my eczema was terrible which was embarrassment and self-consciousness. Future hubby and I are doing all we can to assure him that it will get better and try to get him not to scratch to prevent scarring. 🙄 Anyone else out there deals with eczema? So, we did a thing!! My baby boy had his first haircut. We wanted to let his curly fro flourish but when it came to wash day both mommy and son were crying. He dreaded getting his hair washed and detangled. I dreaded heading him cry. 💈 So, daddy made the decision to just cut it off. Yes, I cried while I saw his curly locks fall to the ground! Yes I cried when I saw the finished look! Yes I'm still crying seeing how much of a bigger boy my Squishy looks! 💈 All in all, there are no regrets. My sonshine is still handsome as ever! It is amazing how a complete stranger can show so much support. 💕 The message of today is You Are Worthy! Never forget that. Even at times when you may not feel the best, feel defeated, or feel like you have given your all but no dice... You are still worthy! Give yourself more credit!
