Today my anxiety got the best of me. I have been holding a lot of my anxiety in during the holidays and trying to be “cheerful and merry”. Instead I just felt overwhelmed and I associate with the grinch this year. It really bothered me. I mean, I am a huge fan of the holidays. I worked for Santa for five years taking photos. I obviously loved it at one point. Well, now that Christmas is over I just wanted all the decorations put away because it was spiking my anxiety as I felt like I failed Christmas. I only had 1/3 of my decorations up this year and it felt like I was taunted by how little I did. I spoke with Matt and we agreed to take it all down early (usually I take down Xmas on Jan. 6 when the three wise men visit Jesus). Now that it’s all down and my rooms are looking bare and it’s all cleared away... I needed to nap, take a walk, take a bath or bake... or all four to clear my mind. So I took a power nap, then a nice afternoon walk with Dakota. Now I am baking my second snowflake ❄️ lemon cake to try and move my mind to something more productive. To dig myself out of the negative space. I tried a new recipe to make a lemon 🍋 bunt cake from scratch. I am pleasantly surprised by how much Matt and I love it. I think I will make another when his parents come to visit in two weeks. I hope everyone’s Saturday was carefree and relaxing. Happy Christmas!!! 🎄⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While I live in Florida I can honestly say it wasn’t even close to a white Christmas. ❄️ We were here in the mid 70’s and sunny all day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While my wether wish was not what I asked for the rest of the day was great. I spent the day with my 90 year old grandma, my mom and dad & of course @matt_mauney. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This was a small Christmas year my parents are downsizing and donating a lot of the four bedroom house 🏡 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Matt and I are prepping for remodeling another room in January so we all agree on no gifts that are not practical. It was fun to shop for gifts that would last through the ages. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My grandma got me a #hearthandhome from magnolia cake plate. I can’t wait to decorate my coffee counter. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My mother got me a home depo gift card yay 💃⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My dad got me a Jasmine’s ring. She is still my favorite princess 👑 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Matt won on practical gifts 🎁 he got me a Amazon paper white kindle. It’s waterproof for all the pool, bath, and beach reading I love to do. It also hold so many books 📚 so it reduces space I take up. I also love it for all the car rides and travel we do. So perfect. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After Christmas Dinner (lunch) it was Avengers, Die Hard, Die Hard 2 & now Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. Curling up on the sofa with the family in the ambiance of the Christmas tree 🎄 is just perfect. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I hope you and your family have had a wonderful holiday. Today was one of the most amazing days. I was able to attend a Georgia Southern tailgate with my dog Dakota. I was able to carry one of the Georgia Southern flags during the eagle walk. I was also able to attend with some great friends from Orlando. Both Heather and Cara had never attended a Georgia Southern tailgate prior to this weekend and I think that I can say this with pretty much confidence....I think they enjoyed it. While the outcome of the game was not what we wished for. Somedays are just the worst! You get down on yourself and don’t see all of the strides and accomplishments made. Then another day you walk along a low tightrope and have balance that wasn’t there before. You are also centered and can do squats on a tightrope. This is huge for me so here is a photo of me actually accomplishing this. I am a klutz and I run into things I drop things I do all kinds of not so graceful things. This photo is the opposite I was graceful for a few minutes and feet along a rope. It may be a tiny accomplishment to some, but to me I am so proud of this moment.
