With humility, reverence and hope I want to share with you my commitment to a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. 💙💚 In May I attended this year’s Green Carpet Gala supporting @michaelsgivinghand fundraising benefit to raise awareness for anxiety and depression in teens. The magic of the evening reminded me of the importance of solidarity, understanding, and support in the face of mental health struggles. — 60 Days — 2 months from today my mom and I will once again be participating in the @afspnational and @afsp_philly annual Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk in Philadelphia. Together, we will walk to honor Dan and all who have been lost to suicide, support those who are struggling, and spread hope for a brighter tomorrow. Every step we take is a step towards breaking the stigma and bringing light to the darkness. Barkley is living his very best life! (and my heart couldn’t be fuller) 🐶 ☀️ Summer of Barkley 2024: Fueled by @ollie We took an impromptu trip to the Hamptons over the weekend, and while I may have packed myself 3 bags for 2 nights (🫣), packing for Barkley was a breeze. 🥗 His dog food arrives monthly in pre-portioned daily food packs making it super easy for me to make sure he had everything he would need for our getaway. ✔️ I popped 3 of his human-grade food packs in his Ollie storage container, packed his Ollie bowl, and we were off! 🫶 We played, we swam, we relaxed and WE ATE! how it started ➡️ how it’s going I know Barkley has a fan or two 🫶 so wanted to share an update about where we’ve been hiding the last several days… Our 4th of July weekend started off with a bang — and not from fireworks. We rounded out the holiday festivities with multiple emergency trips to our veterinarian. A few rounds of blood work and a couple to go, I think we’ve ruled out some of the scarier diagnoses (like the initial front runner, Addison’s Disease and Irritable Bowel Disease). We are now trying activated charcoal to help with diagnostics, and will take things from there. Although we don’t have an answer just yet, Barkley is in much better spirits. 🥹 …now to keep him that way. 20+ years strong and I am continuously grateful for having such caring and attentive veterinarians and staff at Gateway Animal Hospital.
