👋🏻 Hi there! It looks like I have many new people in my little community since my reel blew up and then I decided to take a 2 weeks break from social media 😅 my timing is impeccable, I know. Anyway, should probably reintroduce myself and my family! I’m Liv! I’m 27 years old and have been married since 8.28.21 to my best friend and fellow Penn Stater, Dylan. We met our senior year of college and have a VERY cute, romcom like story. I am a Civil Engineer and I work full time as a Construction Manager 👷🏼‍♀️ at Disney World; Dylan is an Aerospace Engineer who works in defense 🚀 On 2.6.24 we welcomed our son Pierson Ray (Pierce). He is my everything 🥹💙 I struggled for so long with PCOS related infertility and finally got pregnant; if you are trying and struggling, I understand and am an open book. I’d love to share anything that may help! Motherhood has been the BEST journey. As for how I handle it, I probably do some controversial things 😂😂 I had a plan once, but it pretty much all went out the window when absolutely nothing went the way I was hoping with Pierson’s birth and had to have a very traumatic emergency c-section. Everything is great now, but I definitely just go with the flow. I pretty much exclusively pump Pierce does still latch occasionally but pumping is better for my schedule; it’s a lot of work and I definitely understand why many people decide to go the formula route (I consider it like every other day) 😂 We don’t specifically use one brand of diapers or wipes, I coupon and buy what’s cheap. We don’t have a strict nap or sleep schedule. My favorite stroller was less than $200, most of the expensive baby stuff is totally unnecessary. Oh and he’s gone to daycare since 13 weeks. I love sharing my authentic experience as a mom! Sometimes it’s funny, other times it’s tips and tricks I’ve learned and occasionally I through in some product recommendations. Pierson is 4months! 3 Months of Motherhood; What I've Learned as a New Mom - You get a lot of advice and opinions you didn't ask for. Sometimes it comes from a place of love and other times it comes from a place of judgement. It's from family, friends, strangers and even people without kids. It's usually best to just say "thank you" whether or not you are going to take it - if you breastfeed you will constantly think you are losing your supply. Each time you feed or pump you will obsess and have anxiety over it. Breastfeeding is hard, but feeding your baby is easy; supplementing with or exclusively feeding formula doesn't make you any less of a mother - Try to expose your baby to new things as soon as possible. Try different diaper and wipe brands. Give them bottles occasionally even if they are breastfed. Try feeding them milk straight from the fridge. Introduce different shaped pacifiers. Dump water over their face in the bath. I used to think Pierce only "liked" certain things, but if something didn't work the first time I tried it, I gave up. Turns out, babies aren't necessarily that picky. I have an "easy" baby because I encouraged him to adapt. Adapting to new things doesn't come without challenges.
