Next, head to Piedmont Park, which is a public park with 185 acres of areas to explore including dog parks, a community garden, aquatics pool, playgrounds, track, basketball and tennis courts, and even special events throughout the year, namely Music Midtown, which has featured artists such as Imagine Dragons, Billie Eilish, Kedrick Lamar, and so many more! Lastly, if you didn’t get the chance to visit MLK Jr. National Historical Park yesterday, today is also a great day to visit. Once you get to the corner of Wylie St SE and Krog St NE, turn left and walk through Krog Street Tunnel for more incredible murals and street art. As you proceed on the path, you’ll pass near Historic Fourth Ward Park (the official park…not the specific skate park).
You’ll also find their ice cream offered in a number of local restaurants (like Lord Fletcher’s on Lake Minnetonka). If you like sushi, CRAVE American Kitchen and Sushi Bar is a great place for dinner. The second of your 3 days in Minneapolis will take you back in time to learn about the history of the area as well as one of Minneapolis’ most famous and beloved residents. If you want to learn more about how Minneapolis got its start, the Mill City Museum is a great place to visit.
Some of the best beach clubs on Playa de Los Muertos are El Dorado Beach Club and Sapphire Ocean Club, for those wanting a more relaxed environment, and Mantamar Beach Club, if you want to party hardy. If you’re looking for a calmer beach, take an Uber or taxi to Playa Conchas Chinas, known as the best beach in Puerto Vallarta, or head even further to Playa Palmares, where locals go to truly escape the crowds. On the last day of the trip to Puerto Vallarta, consider a day or half-day trip to one of the surrounding areas like Sayulita, or a boat trip to Yelapa, or even an ATV trip through the jungles of the Sierra Madre mountains. Located just behind this beach, you’ll find a small cemetery, colorfully-decorated in the same festive style as many Mexican cemeteries, hence the name Playa de Los Muertos, or beach of the dead.
On day 3, you’ll hike at the infamous Torrey Pines and visit the historic Balboa Park. You’ll explore some of San Diego’s spooky history, and then you’ll enjoy a classic American Drive-in movie, as the locals do. Some of the most popular beaches for surfing include Ocean Beach, Mission Beach or Pacific Beach. Your 3-day San Diego itinerary will end with a hike at Torrey Pines Natural Reserve and a visit to the incredible Balboa Park, followed by a classic sunset cruise.
