Hi, I'm Alex Sumuel! I am the founder of the Wander With Alex travel website where I provide vacationers and travel enthusiasts with trip ideas, travel guides, news, and itineraries. My mission is to share research and experiences with others to help them vacation a little easier! I've had several articles featured on MSN, I'm a proud Virginian, and I love technology! Let's create something together!
I’m Alex, a travel writer, and I’d like to introduce myself! In 2019, I realized that I hadn’t put a dent in seeing the world. So, I made a vision board filled with places I’d hope to see one day. Despite the pandemic, I started traveling the very next year, and was able to visit several countries and states even with a full-time job. That’s all it took! I knew I had been bitten by the travel bug! In 2021, I started my travel blog, Wander With Alex. That year I worked everyday after work and on weekends to shimmy my way into a very crowded niche. With hard work and persistence, my first year of blogging was actually profitable and I was also invited to attend my first two press trips! In 2022, I became an MSN publisher. Since then, I’ve been syndicated by news and radio outlets around the country! Including ABC, FOX, and NBC affiliates. My ultimate goal is to become a full-time travel writer and blogger once my boss retires, and the dream is now within reach! Make 2024 your best year yet! If you dream of traveling the world, do it! If you want it bad enough, you’ll find a way! 🥂 to making dreams come true in 2024! #2024 #goals #dreams #youcandoit #startplanning #travelblogger #travelwriter #travelinfluencer #dreamscometrue #wanderwithalex #heretostay

🏫 Flagler College, a Spanish Renaissance architectural masterpiece, was initially the Ponce de Leon Hotel built by industrialist Henry Flagler. Constructed in 1888 during the Gilded Age, the hotel was one of the most exclusive of its day. 👀 Fun Facts: 🌟 Flagler hired Louis Tiffany to help with the interior design. You can still see the original Tiffany glass windows in the dining hall. They are worth MILLIONS! 🌟 Prominent guests included President Theodore Roosevelt, Mark Twain, and Babe Ruth. 🌟 During WWII, the hotel was taken over by the U.S. Coast Guard as a training center. Today, St. Augustine is considered the birthplace of the Coast Guard Reserve. 🌟 In 1968, the hotel (now a National Historic Landmark) became the home of Flagler College! ❣️You can book a tour of this historic campus— led by students! 👉🏽 @FloridasHistoricCoast #staugustine #florida #flaglercollege #poncedeleonhotel #henryflagler #history #architechture #gildedage #historiclandmark #university #spanisharchitecture #historybuff #historylovers #historygram #travelblog

👻 What do you do when visiting the oldest city in the nation? You take a ghost tour! 1- Castillo de San Marcos National Moment: Orbs, lights, Spanish Soldier sightings. Especially in photographs. 2- The City Gate: The city gets many 911 calls about a lost little girl in white. Perhaps a victim of yellow fever buried nearby. 3- Tolomato Cemetary: Sightings of a little boy playing in the trees and Bishop Verot whose body exploded. There’s more, but I won’t spoil the surprise! 👉🏽 @aghostlyencounter #staugustine #florida #haunted #hauntedplaces #hauntedhistory #ghosttour #spooky #orbs #travel #travelblog #floridashistoriccoast #history
