The above are all the topics I passionately delve into on my blog (www.wildpassports.com) and on Instagram (@wildpassports).
About Me:
Every day feels like a pinch-me moment. I am incredibly grateful for all the opportunities and blessings I have been given that have led me to where I am today. If you had told the child, with her head up in the clouds and stars in her eyes always dreaming of adventure, the same one who spent countless hours devouring the pages of every travel magazine that she could could get her hands on, that she would one day call London her home and experience so much that the world has to offer, she never would have believed you.
Where Am I Located?
I live in London, England. However, you can find me all around the globe traveling to new countries, sights and cities and I make sure to go back home to America as much as possible.
Who Am I?: I am made of Indian roots, American stems, and British leaves. Being born in India and living there for the first few years of my life, my Indian background and culture are both very important to me. However, I would say I truly grew up in America having traveled to and lived in more states and cities than I can count! While I remain an American citizen, I massively shook up my life when I decided to come to England for university and ended up working here as well. I have now been an expat on the “other side of the pond” for over 6 years now!
I just can’t get over Switzerland’s beauty and don’t think I ever will. Can you believe these photos were shot on an iPhone from a quickly moving car? I was left gasping in awe after every turn on this road trip I took from Milan 🇮🇹 to Lake Lucerne in Switzerland 🇨🇭. It’s a good thing I wasn’t the one driving as I definitely did not feel like I had enough eyes to take in all the sights around me!
You’re making a big mis-steak if you haven’t visited @gauchogroup yet. 👀🥩 While London has no shortage of high end steakhouses, these can be quite hit or miss. More often than not, I have left an overhyped restaurant with a less than savory taste in my mouth and a large hole in my wallet. However, no visit to Gaucho has ever left me disappointed. This Argentinian chain of restaurants always hits the spot in terms of flavor and customer service. 🇦🇷 Another thing I love about Gaucho is the variety of offerings on hand which cater to every budget. There’s truly something for everyone, even for those who are vegetarian or not the biggest fans of red meat. For those who enjoy a nice glass of red with their meal, Gaucho also has a fantastic wine list. 🍷 If you’re in London or will be visiting soon, I definitely encourage you to head to any one of Gaucho’s London locations for a 5 star dining experience. 🌟
It would not feel like you were in London without seeing one of its iconic red telephone booths on every corner. 🇬🇧 While the majority of them are not in use in anymore, I love stumbling across booths that have been repurposed for other reasons. My favorite ones are the community libraries where you can drop off a book in exchange for one already there. 📚
It’s been quite a while now since I’ve made a batch of cookies but I absolutely had to pull out the baking trays for these @doughlicious_dough beauties. I couldn’t resist making four of their six different flavors at once: chocolate chip 🍪, matcha and white chocolate chip 🍵, peanut butter 🥜, and carrot, oat and pumpkin seed 🥕. Not a single flavor was a disappointment. In fact, these were actually the easiest and most perfect cookies I’ve ever baked. The only work they required was popping the balls of dough onto a baking tray. Perfectly squidgy in the middle and filled with deliciousness in every bite, they were gone in under ten minutes! The cookies can also be enjoyed guilt-free as the cookie dough is completely free of refined sugars, artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. Vegan and gluten-free as well, they are perfect for the health conscious without compromising on taste. Check out my Instagram story or my Products I Love highlight for more details on these cookies and where you can buy them 🍪. #sponsored
“You dim sum, you lose some.” Is that how the saying goes? 🏮⛩ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ I cannot wait to be back in the bustle of Chinatown where I always feel like a winner. Perhaps it’s the presence of the hundreds of red lanterns signifying good fortune dotting the skies? Or maybe it’s thanks to the fond memories with close friends I’ve had here taking in all of the sights, smells and incredible food this area of London has to offer.
It was an absolute par-tea onboard the @brigitsbakery Afternoon Tea Tour bus last week. ☕️🧁🎉 I have always wanted to experience the Brigit’s Bakery bus after I learned it combined two of my favorite things - afternoon tea and sightseeing. Therefore, I was thrilled when I was invited to attend the Notting Hill Carnival themed afternoon tea! I had the best time taking in all of London’s famous sites whilst devouring delicious cakes and sandwiches. And how can I not mention the seriously refreshing @theduppyshare cocktails? What an amazing collaboration between The Duppy Share Rum and Brigit’s Bakery for Notting Hill Carnival. I definitely recommend booking onto one of the Brigit’s Bakery bus tours if you live in London or have plans to visit in the future. There are several themed tours in addition to the classic Afternoon Tea which are lots of fun. I will warn you that if you are interested in the Notting Hill Carnival tour, do book ASAP as it will be running only over the August bank holiday weekend and is likely to sell out. 🙊 #invited
Good food, good wines and good times is exactly how I would describe my experience at @tasteoflondon 🥂. Clear standouts at the festival were definitely the dishes served at Mango Tree and Chai Wu which were complemented perfectly by the silky smooth Monsoon Valley wines. I cannot recommend these two restaurants and Monsoon Valley highly enough! And for those dining at Mango Tree, you can even find Monsoon Valley on your menu. Here’s a breakdown of each dish and wine savored: Chai Wu 🦀 Tempura Soft Shell Crab with Orange Ponzu - this was incredible, I was not surprised to learn it sold out hours before the end of each day! 🐔 Minced Chicken in Soft Noodle with Szechuan Sauce - this dish really took me by surprise. I knew it would be delicious but it was a whole another level. 🥟 Vegetarian Poached Dim Sum in Spicy Black Vinegar Sauce - this is something I would order every single time. Definitely one for the spice seekers. 🐠 Chilean Sea Bass served in Lemon Sauce - hands down one of the most buttery and tender fish dishes I’ve had. Mango Tree 🍙 Fresh Summer Roll - I’m obsessed with these. Each bite was super refreshing and tasty. 🦑 Deep Fried Squid tossed with Lemongrass Sauce - I normally expect squid dishes to be served with dip but this one was not. However, it didn’t need any dip as the flavors truly stand for themselves. 🦆 Duck Thai Red Curry with Jasmine Rice - absolutely unbelievable. I fell in love with this dish just from the aroma alone. 🐑 Grilled Thai Lamb - perfectly marinated in Thai herbs and served with a seriously yummy spicy sauce, I couldn’t get enough of this dish! This is a must try for those who eat meat. Monsoon Valley 🍷 Shiraz - fruity yet slightly spicy, this was one of the supplest light tannin reds I’ve ever had. Beautifully integrated, this wine slides across the palate. 🍷 Blended Red - consisting of a blend of Shiraz and local Thai pok dum grapes, this was the perfect accompaniment to the Duck Red Curry. I especially loved the wine’s velvety texture and berry undertones.
Can you believe the views on this train ride? The Rhaetian Railway traversing through the Swiss Alps is an UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the world’s most beautiful and scenic train routes taking you through both Italy and Switzerland. The railroad is comprised of two lines, the Albula and the Bernina. I embarked on the Bernina line via the Bernina Express from the Italian city of Tirano, nestled at the foot of Swiss Alps, up to the luxury alpine resort town of St Moritz. Every minute of this journey was sensational and filled with jaw-dropping scenery. I will never forget seeing the Morteratsch Glacier come into view whilst the train took the famous 180-degree Montebello Curve or any of the stunning mountain vistas and valleys!
Pucci gang, Pucci gang, Pucci gang With its warm artsy interiors, attentive and friendly waiters, and incredible food, @puccimayfair is the perfect place for a celebration. That’s exactly why I chose to book dinner at Pucci to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Swipe through to see the birthday surprise Pucci’s staff presented him with at the end of our meal! Here is a breakdown of everything we ate and drank to celebrate. Drinks: 🍹 Fleur de Figues cocktail made of grey goose vodka, fresh ginger, lychee juice, fresh lemon juice, and figues liquor. This drink was so tasteful and refreshing, I easily could have ordered five more. 🇮🇹 Acqua Panna still water. Starters: 🍅 Bruschetta using vine tomatoes and the most delicious house-made barbari bread. 🦑 Panko Crusted Calamari which came with smoked chili jelly that I just couldn’t get enough of. Mains: 🐑 Somerset Grass-Fed Harissa Lamb Chops served with yummy tzatziki. 🍕 ‘Nduja Pizza with burrata and drizzled honey. Though not normally a fan of sweetness in my mains, I found the honey to complement the spiciness of the sausage surprisingly well. Dessert: 🍦Strawberry gelato served with fresh strawberries and chocolate sauce. #puccimayfair #puccipizza #mayfair #foodlondon
Going, going, gondola! 🛶 I adored every place I visited in Italy but Venice definitely has a piece of my heart. Often described as Europe’s most enchanting and romantic city, Venice is uniquely compromised of 118 islands which are separated by over 150 canals. Unfortunately, the city’s distinctive geographical makeup may also lead to its demise. Have you heard of the supposed watery fate that’s in store for this beautiful city? Due to a multitude of factors such as the gradual rise in sea levels, underwater plate tectonics, the burgeoning effects of building on a muddy lagoon, and the now discontinued practice of groundwater pumping, Venice is slowly sinking each year. Some reports state that the city may be underwater as soon as 2100!
🎶 How do you like your eggs in the morning?... I like mine at @eggslut 🎶 I am incredibly excited that Eggslut has finally cracked on and arrived in London! The British capital is truly in for an egg-cellent treat 🍳. Having made its debut at the @tasteoflondon (the queues were out of this world), you can soon find @eggslutuk at its more permanent home in Notting Hill from August 7th. I’m not yolking when I say I have already marked my calendar for its official launch! Pictured here are two of Eggslut’s most famous signature dishes: the Fairfax and the Slut. ✨ The Fairfax is a melt-in-your mouth sandwich compromised of soft scrambled eggs and chives, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and the perfect amount of sriracha mayo (I’m obsessed with the slight kick this gives 🌶) in a warm brioche bun. The Slut is an irresistibly smooth coddled egg on top of a potato purée which has been poached in a glass jar and topped with gray salt and chives. All of this goodness is accompanied with perfectly portioned slices of baguette 🥖. How good does it all look?! August 7th can’t come soon enough...
I’m a proud member of the “Hutong Clan”. I love dining at Hutong located at the very tip-top of the Shard. Some days you don’t want the local Chinese takeaway and crave a sit down meal...1000 feet up in the sky 🙈. Not only are the food and drinks delicious but the gorgeous decor and having the London skyline as your backdrop makes every visit feel oh so magical. While I can’t afford treating myself to dinner at Hutong every week (a girl can only dream), it’s the perfect place to have a romantic dinner or to celebrate one of life’s many achievements. I really enjoyed every dish ordered and wish I got more pictures to share before devouring it all! Pictured: 🥟 Dim Sum Platter (cod and seaweed dumplings with tobiko, XO sauce crystal prawn dumplings, Rosé Champagne shrimp dumplings, seasonal mushroom and cabbage dumplings) 🥢 Vegetarian Spring Rolls 🥩 Sautéed Crispy Shredded Beef 🥦 Wok-fried Kai Lan (aka Chinese broccoli) 🍨 Mango Pudding with Fruit Salsa & Mandarin Sorbet Not Pictured: 🐟 Monkfish in Yangtze Hot & Sour Broth 🥟 Golden Sesame Dumplings
Dining at @flourandgrape was a wonderful way to “pasta” time on a rainy afternoon in London. It’s a delight to find an Italian where everything is made fresh (you can even watch them making the pasta outside 👨🏻🍳). As fond purveyors of Italian cuisine, my boyfriend and I ordered a few mains and desserts to share. We were genuinely blown away by every dish. A true standout was the truffle and runny egg ravioli 🍳. Swipe to see us cutting into it as well as everything else we enjoyed! #foodexperience #londonrestaurant #flourandgrape #pastaislife
