 The ‘Virtù’ a traditional ‘minestra’ made of 50+ ingredients, prepared ONLY on the 1st of May in #Teramo ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It is prepared following an ancient complex recipe, believed to be propitiatory, a magic recipe, to be lived once in a lifetime. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This ancient dish, It requires 3 days of work as is made up of about 50 ingredients among different types of beans, legumes, chickpeas, seasonal vegetables, wild herbs, cut of meats, etc. All carefully prepared and cooked separately. A propitiatory dish to clean the pantry and welcome the warm season. 3 days where small communities gather together, cook, eat, drink and above all share and offer the Virtu’ to other families in the village! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What a beautiful day! Our Vineyard 🍇 From 3 years together with @man_in_bottle @feder.kika & @gessige we started understanding what is like making wine, natural wine. From collecting grapes, to fermenting, to bottling. This year we took on a new adventure, adding an extra burden, taking care of our neighbour’s small vineyard. This vineyard was about to be eradicated due to its steep position and the increasing load of work and care required. When we saw the vineyard the first time, we felt in love and we couldn’t let it go…we decided to take on this huge responsibility and challenge… From this ongoing challenge we understood that there is an insane amount of work and we can definitely say that we have HUGE RESPECT for all the artisanal winemakers. Our wine tours will still be at our favourite wineries and our friends winemakers. LE FARCHIE 📍FARA FILIORUM PETRI Every year the various districts of Fara Filiorum Petri, a town in the Province of #Chieti in the Region of #Abruzzo, participate in the Farchie Festival, a famous fire #ritual in honour of Saint Anthony the Abbot. The event commemorates the miracle that delivered the town from subjugation by the French army in 1799…For the full story send us a message On January 7th, each district begins their preparations for the festival. A heavy bundle of reeds called a #farchia is construct-ed to venerate the #Saint The farchie (plural) can be up to 1 meter thick and 8 meters long and are secured by flexible willow branches.
