it's felt *so* good to get back into my movement routine and practice that self-care when i can fit it in, but ~wow~ has it been humbling😂 my strength is nowhere near where it used to be and it's much harder to find the energy, but I’m giving myself grace! the biggest thing i'm keeping in mind is that i'm doing what i can, and showing up for myself means that i can be a better mama for little v💕 // set by @astoria_activewear

3 minutes from start to finish, only 1 dish & tastes like cake...why did it take me so long to finally try the viral protein pancake bowl?! i'm obsessed🤌🏼🥞 PROTEIN PANCAKE BOWL *dairy-free!* 1/2 cup pancake mix (i love @birchbenders) 1 scoop protein powder (i use @sproutliving code JORDANF20) 1 egg white 1/2 mashed banana 1 tbsp non-dairy milk toppings: @oat.haus protein vanilla granola butter, fresh fruit & maple syrup COMBINE all ingredients in a bowl and MICROWAVE for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. gotta take our wins where we can, y'all👏🏼😂 i'm still *very* much a hot mess these days, but if i could go back and give myself some words of encouragement that very first week we came home from the hospital, i would say: trust me, you're gonna get the hang of this! to any other mamas who need to hear it: you're doing amazing💕

the fourth trimester is no joke, but we're growing through it one day at a time🙏🏼 here are a few things that have made a world of difference for me over the past 5 weeks: 💕 asking for and *accepting* help - i know it's hard af because we want to do everything ourselves, but this time we can't and don't have to. it takes a village!! ✨ changing out of my pj's - even if it's to put on sweats, i swear it makes a difference. take a 5 min shower to rinse off and feel a little bit more like yourself! 👶🏻 baby wearing - my @sollybaby wrap has become part of my daily wardrobe at this point & it's a must for new mamas! makes it possible to actually get things done and v absolutely loves being in it. (the link in my bio gets you 10% OFF) 🌸 getting fresh air - mental health walks have been a game changer for me (not just in pp!) but if you can't walk around yet, even sitting outside does the trick 🏠 shifting my idea of what "productivity" looks like - it's weird to go from hustling all day, to-do lists and plans to taking care of a baby and simply *being* but my #1 job right now is taking care of a human and that's enough!

my only goal for may: to let go of what i thought life would look like & instead, find joy in all it *actually* is, right here and right now🥰🌸💕

fun fact: baby v's first concert was the eras tour last summer & then she was pushed out to reputation (which, oddly enough, was the set during which she gave me my worst bout of morning sickness)😂 p.s. of *course* life looks different with a baby! but including her in the things i already love has been a big part of my postpartum mental health & happiness🫶🏼

Roadtrip & Colorado Recap (plus a Big Life Update!)

We listened to audiobooks almost the entire time, stopped in Utah for the night on the way there, pulled off on the side of the road to admire the rock formations, and stopped in a little town in CO called Grand Junction for awesome tacos. We cooked more instead of dining out (I share more of my favorite spots in Breckenridge this post and this post!), but were able to grab takeout from our favorite spots like Giampietro’s for pizza, Mi Casa for Mexican, and Clint’s for coffee! Though it was bittersweet to leave (the week went by too quickly and it’s my favorite place), we planned our stop on the way home to be in Vegas instead of Utah so we could do some exploring. I’m not sure if this is the case when we’re not in a pandemic, but we had to buy “tickets” online in advance and choose a specific time!

Chai Spiced Sugar Cookies (Vegan/GF)

The ingredients are nutritious enough for them to pass for breakfast, so I didn’t feel too badly 🙂 1 cup cassava flour 1/2 cup almond flour 1 tsp each nutmeg, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger & cloves 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cup melted coconut oil 3/4 cup granulated sweetener (I used an allulose blend!) 1 flax egg (1 tbsp flaxseed, 2 1/2 tbsp water) 1 tbsp vanilla extract 3 tbsp almond milk optional: cinnamon + sweetener Combine the wet & dry ingredients and stir till completely combined. form into slightly flattened rounds and place on a parchment lined or greased baking sheet.

5 Things I've Been Doing for My Mental Health

As I’m navigating it all, I’ve had to take a step back from this blog because after many 12+ hour days staring at my laptop and phone, I’ve mostly just been wanting to check out and turn off my brain entirely! It’s tough when most of my life is social media (both my full time job and side hustle), but I’m learning to spend any free time I have doing anything else. I’m trying to remind myself that I have a right, just like everyone else, to take time off and not be on email 24/7! I’ve realized that the only person putting that pressure on myself to post on Instagram everyday, write on this blog, post YouTube videos, make Tik Toks and all of these other things is me.
