Want to know the best way to get around #Singapore? ⬇️ With one of the most efficient and clean public transport systems in the world it has to be hands down their MRT 🚆 system. With transport every few minutes to every corner of Singapore the MRT 🚆can get you there quickly and in cool comfort (which is fabulous with the humidity🥵) The options are; 1️⃣ Purchase a Singapore Tourist Pass (STP) which will allow you 1,2 or 3 days unlimited travel. These can be bought at Simply Go Ticket offices at selected MRT stations and some convenience stores like 7-11. These passes cost from $22 (1day) and some have a rental deposit which you can get back before you leave. OR 2️⃣ Tap and Go with your Mastercard or Visa or mobile phone📱(there are some small international fees) For the amount we used the MRT 🚆 (which was every morning and most afternoons) we were happy with the convenience of the Tap & Go option. Our average costs per day was between $5-10AUD Not only is the MRT 🚆super efficient and clean but it’s so easy to navigate with clear colour coded directions for each different line, I guarantee you won’t get lost… but hey if you do you will not be disappointed with where you end up as there is so much to explore in Singapore!!! 🧁Enjoy a “sweet” adventure on your next road trip through regional Western Australia indulging at some of the best country bakeries… 🧁Now this important task into the best country bakeries has taken me all over #WesternAustralia 😜 and in the name of research I have sampled many pies, pasties, jam donuts and vanilla slices and here is my TOP 5️⃣ Country Bakeries in WESTERN AUSTRALIA (not in any order!!) 1️⃣ toodyaybakery for the best meat pies and some of the quirkiest names…think a Moondyne Joe pie 🥧 or what about a Portuguese Tart? 2️⃣ augustabakery brings a sense of nostalgia for me growing up in the area and the bakery still has the same relaxed holiday vibes it’s always had and the most delicious jam and cream donuts 😁 3️⃣ Mt Barker Country Bakery is your stop during a #GreatSouthern road trip, they have some of the best bread 🥖 and pies around, try their Korean Chicken Pie. 4️⃣ dardanupbaker has delicious breads and pies but you must try their specialty fresh filled donuts and cinnamon scrolls but get there early or you will miss out!! 🍩 5️⃣ Lastly and one I drive past every time on my way to and from Perth is the bakershillpieshop on Great Eastern Hwy and as the name suggests they have a mouthwatering range of pies but my favs are their vanilla slice and chicken and salad rolls made to order with fresh crusty bread… Although not in my top five BEST but are worth a notable mention are the following fabulous country bakeries and definitely worth the road trip; 🧁 tasbakery_ Dunsborough 🧁pinjarra_bakery Pinjarra 🧁denmark_bakery Denmark What’s your favourite country bakery in WA and what’s your favourite bakery treat? It wasn’t quite “dancing lights painting the southern skies” but considering this was taken from the middle of the city the #AuroraMagic still shone through… I had spent all evening seeing some amazing photography of the #AuroraAustralis and wishing I had been more organised and driven somewhere special to view it putting on its show but decided at 10pm to just go to the park across the road from our house in the suburbs of Perth to see what I could view. Thats how strong this current Aurora geomagnetic storm was that even with a sky filled with light pollution from the city I could still see the #Aurora in the sky… I have even heard of people in North Queensland being able to see the glow from the Aurora. It certainly is a crazy #naturalphenomenon and I’m go glad I got to see a small bit of it. #Perth #AuroraEffect #MakingTheBestOfIt #AuroraChasing

🦞 MUST DO ATTRACTIONS in GERALDTON (save for later) On the eve of this years shoreleavefestival in Geraldton I thought I would share my favourite Geraldton highlights.. let me know what your favourite things to do in #Geraldton or the Midwest are? 1️⃣ shoreleavefestival 🦞Held each year at the end of April, there is a huge array of events held over the weekend from family friendly markets to a once in a lifetime seafood feast held on the beautiful #abrolhosislands 2️⃣ Abrolhos Islands 🐠 are a collection of islands off the coast of Geraldton and an ocean lovers paradise 🪸They are simply breathtaking to see especially from the air!! 3️⃣ Pt Moore Lighthouse ❤️ The lighthouse was first lit in 1878 and still to this day.. the famous red and white stripes were added in 1969. 4️⃣ Horizon Sculpture and Public Mural Art - Take a wander around the centre of town for some fabulous mural art including this stunning Horizon Ball along the Beresford Foreshore or visit the geraldtonregionalartgallery 5️⃣ St Francis Xavier Cathederal ⛪️ completed in 1938 was built by Monsignor Hawes who arrived in Geraldton in 1915. During spring time visit Pelham Reserve to see stunning displays of wildflowers or stop at toodyaybakery for their famous pies and other delicious bakery items 🥧, one of the best country bakeries in Western Australia. Just out of Toodyay is one of Western Australia’s oldest wineries coorinja_winery. You must try their delicious wines (I especially love their fortifieds 🍷) If you want a bit of quirky fun then visit the Toodyay Christmas Shop. christmas360toodyay for year round festive joy🎄 So why not take yourself on a day trip to Toodyay or spend the weekend in sometime. The cooler months are a perfect time to visit especially as the Avon River starts to flow and you can wander along its banks. ✨SMALL TOWN SPOTLIGHT This week our Small Town Spotlight is Nungarin, a Wheatbelt town just over 3hrs east of Perth with a population of approx 230. Nungarin was the largest inland military storage facility during WWII. It now is home to one of the best military and army museums in Australia. Nungarin like many Wheatbelt communities has a vast and beautiful landscape with many granite outcrops and salt lakes. 20km north of town you will find Eaglestone Rock and Lake Brown. A great spot to explore and camp the night (there are no facilities!) You can also find Danberrin and Talgomine Rocks nearby also. Returning back to Nungarin stop and enjoy a beer or great pub meal at the historic Nungarin Hotel or why not stay the night upstairs in one of their rooms and wake ready for the monthly Sunday markets held on the first Sunday of each month. Nungarin is also home to Mangowine Homestead, a historic national trust property. You can even camp here for the night at their on site caravan park.
