    Travel in COVID-19 times

Passengers will be required to present (negative) results of a PCR test for COVID-19 before being permitted to travel to Morocco, with the PCR test dating less than 72 hours from the date on which the sample was taken, not from the date on which the result was delivered, prior to departure. On arriving in Botswana, you must present proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test performed no more than 72 hours prior to your departure. International air travel is restricted to Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg), King Shaka International Airport (Durban), and Cape Town International Airport. On arrival at Entebbe International Airport and at land border crossings, travellers will need to provide a negative COVID-19 test certificate issued no more than 72 hours before boarding the aircraft.

    Inspirational Women Surfers

Many times I have found myself as the only girl in the line-up with a bunch of guys (the majority of whom ripping) fighting to catch a few waves, doubting about my level or asking myself why I was the only girl there. Well, as soon as I see another female face in the water, smiling at me and cheering me up, the whole session becomes funnier, I gain more confidence and catch more waves! No matter if she is charging a big barrel or playing with her twin fin on a knee-high wave, her flow is incredibly clean, her style is supreme and she is the real shred queen. Famous for her fearless big waves surfing, her latest documentary Undone shows the ride of some of the gnarliest and most dangerous waves in remote Australia.

Bali playing cards to Fight the plastic problem

In order to support the “Bye Bye Plastic Bags” campaign, which is an established NGO that is already deeply involved into the topic for years, German illustrator Claudie Linke has decided to create and sell playing cards based around the theme of Bali (Surf, People, Culture, Lifestyle, Music etc). The two sisters, Melati (17) and Isabel (15) Wijsen started Bye Bye Plastic Bags at the ages of 10 and 12, after being inspired by a lesson in school about significant people, like Nelson Mandela, Lady Diana, and Mahatma Ghandi. Bye Bye Plastic Bags was born in 2013 and has now grown into a well known international movement of inspiration, youth empowerment, and of course, saying NO to plastic bags. and then they think further: For example, they now also teach kids on Bali how to fish trash out of the rivers with recycled tools in order to prevent ocean pollution (imagine – surf is a truly gnarly adventure in rainy season in Bali, it literally makes you sick).

Morocco: the land of the right-hand point breaks

Morocco: the land of the right-hand point breaks Traditions and modernity perfectly mix in this incredible country famous for its perfect long right-hand point breaks, where teas and flavours spice up your days! A good thing about this region is that point breaks work mainly on low tide and beach breaks on high tide! 4/3 for the less brave ones like me and 3/2 if you are already used to a bit of chill in the water), but nice air temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius and the famous mint teas will warm you up after the session! Outside the main season, there are still waves in Morocco! Swell magnet beach breaks North of Taghazout and South of Agadir are offering great waves during the summer months and Taghazout area is still alright for first-time beginner surfers!

Save Jaws: Free diving with sharks in Hawaii

Swimming with sharks in North Shore Oahu: a great experience to raise awareness about the fact that sharks are not monsters but apex predators. Sharks were actually not really interested in us, but they got pretty excited when a school of tunas made its appearance and some little victims got in the mouth of the Galapagos. I joined the Pelagic Shark Program with One Ocean Diving, the research educational company run by sharks conservationist Ocean Ramsey and sharks photographer Juan Oliphant. Don’t support businesses that sell shark or shark derived products like shark meat, cartilage, shark fin soup, shark leather, teeth, pet products, etc.

Time to take the kids on a road trip up the coast for an uncrowded south point break. Waves in the 2 – 3 foot range and the water temp is real nice. Time to chop off the arms and legs of your steamer. Have a great Friday and even better weekend.

The waves are bigger than the last couple of days. But the early high tide was deepening the banks and with this wind swell the waves are a little wobbly. Still it’s bigger, so that’s a plus. There might be a little dip in size and the winds are out the summer NE quarter.

It was a beautiful start to the morning but that south west wind soon came to town. So it’s southern ends for the most protection. although some northern ends had waves it was a little cross wind and a little bumpy. Waves in the 2 foot range with a few bigger ones now and then.

It’s a beautiful Monday morning with small clean 1 – 2 foot waves. The Swell direction is from the east but tomorrow it will change back from the south (our Fav). so just go surfing as you won’t regret it. The wind will stay offshore from the sw and there is plenty of sunshine to enjoy.

It was a beautiful morning at sunrise with some nice colour as a bonus. it’s overcast and the rain is coming. The was are in the small range around 1 – 2 foot but the high tide is reducing the walls to a short ride. Plus the water temp has drop a degree and there is a wind chill factor as well.
