Best Mayan Ruins Near Cancun: Surprising El-Rey, Beautiful Tulum and More

Best Mayan Ruins Near Cancun to Visit Starting directly in Cancun and heading south and west After visiting El Rey in Cancun and then the National Park in Tulum, I was really excited to visit the Mayan ruins at Coba. OR you could make a simple itinerary and visit some of the best Mayan ruins near Cancun, or even IN Cancun, along with your beach days. Our top pick for a home base when you’re touring the Yucatan Peninsula or Cancun area, particularly if you’re planning to visit the best Mayan ruins, is Playa del Carmen.

Beautiful Spots And Best Things To Do

Older than Pike Place Market in Seattle, the Halifax Seaport Farmers Market brings the best of Nova Scotia all to one place. Fisherman’s Cove is beautiful and one of the best things to do just beyond downtown Halifax. Peggy’s Cove is an EXTREMELY popular weekend destination and you’ll find tour buses arrive early, so start your day with the sunrise to visit Peggy’s Cove and the preservation areas. Halifax, Nova Scotia is an awesome city and with so much history and nature just beyond downtown, it’s a must see destination.

  • 2020 Recap: Garden Projects

The pandemic paused life as we know it, taking away a lot of the freedom we once took for granted, and forcing us to adjust our lives to a new way of doing things including constant lockdowns and social distancing. During the pandemic, my family’s economic situation hasn’t really changed for the worst. I know this article is about our garden DIY projects but I’ve decided to include a small portion about the trips we were able to take in 2020. Alfred and I took a trip to France at the end of December and spent New Year’s Eve in Paris at Open Bar.

Kayaking San Juan Islands: Best Launches, Thrilling Beautiful Kayak Tours

This is our guide to the best places to kayak in the San Juans, from Orcas Island to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. If you paddle to some of the smaller islands on the north side of Shaw Island, such as Crane Island, there are are beaches to rest on, but on some islands, such as Cliff Island, there are only private residences. In Roche Harbor launch your kayak from the boat ramp and head out and to the west, making your way to Nelson Bay at Henry Island, or go for a longer self-guided sea kayak expedition to Westcott Bay on the south side of the Roche Harbor peninsula. Sucia Island Marine State Park and Jones Island Marine State Park are two of the most popular park islands you can kayak to and go camping on.

Florida Keys Road Trip: Stunning And Affordable Things To Do

I’ve shared about HOW to plan a Florida Keys vacation and our favorite places to kayak in the Florida Keys, but these are our picks for the best things to do for a week in the Florida Keys. If a Florida Keys road trip is a must and you don’t have a lot of time, you can easily drive from Miami down as far as Islamorada and enjoy the fishing village culture and some of the best key lime pie in the Florida Keys. Be sure to check out our other articles about the Florida Keys, including How to Plan a Florida Keys Vacation, the Best Key Lime Pie in the Florida Keys, Best Places to Kayak in the Florida Keys and our guide to Dry Tortugas National Park. Best Places to Kayak in the Florida Keys: from Key West to the Backcountry Kayaking in the Florida Keys was one of our favorite parts of our road trip from Miami to Key West (mmm, key lime pie!).

Unexpected Joshua Tree: Super-Bloom Hiking At An Unusual National Park

If you’re planning to see the super bloom in Joshua Tree National Park when you go to Coachella, you’ll be at the tail end of the bloom. We check out whatever exhibits they have, get a park map, talk to the rangers about anything special happening in the Park, and get our National Park passports stamped. Even if you’re visiting Joshua Tree National Park during a cooler time, such as during the super bloom, you’ll still need to be well prepared. The Cholla Garden (said choy-ya), on the southern side of the park, is a must-visit for a Joshua Tree National Park day trip or several days of hiking.

  • We Built A Garden Pavilion...What You Need To Know!

If you’re planning to build your own garden pavilion of any size, you need to consider time and realize it is going to take more than just a few days to build. You’ll also want to consider the space for the sake of determining building materials you need and for the goals you have with your garden pavilion. Take things such as height, width, and length into consideration to determine how many materials you’ll need to build your garden pavilion. Now that you’ve create a design and you have a pretty good plan for building your garden pavilion, it’s time to purchase the materials you’ll need for construction.

Ruby Beach at Olympic National Park: the prettiest beach in Washington

Of all the beaches in the Pacific Northwest, the most beautiful beach in Washington is without a doubt Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park. Yes, Ruby Beach is very near both the Quinault and Hoh Rainforest areas of Olympic National Park, either of which is easy to add to your trip to Ruby Beach. Like with the shells and rocks, if you find amazing, beautiful driftwood on Ruby Beach, or any of the Olympic National Park beaches, you need to leave it for the next visitors to enjoy. Whether it’s bison in Yellowstone National Park or sea stars in Olympic National Park, know that they have their own struggle to survive, so let them be.

Best Manatee Encounters at Florida's Fantastic Blue Spring State Park

Blue Spring State Park is our most common activity with friends visiting Florida, and it’s the best place to see manatees near Orlando or Daytona Beach. Blue Spring State Park is easy to pair with the trip to De Leon Springs State Park or Gemini Springs. It’s very easy to see manatees at Blue Spring State Park starting in mid November and going to March, but the winter months are for sure the best time to visit if you want to experience the crazy congregation of manatees in the river. You cannot swim with them at Blue Spring State Park like you can at Crystal River, but if you stay just outside the boundary of the headspring area, you can enjoy hanging out with manatees as they swim back and forth.

  • Seven Lowcountry Summerville SC Restaurants

My entree is an all-time favorite in the Lowcountry, Oscar’s signature dish, Shrimp and Grits, voted #1 in Summerville. I have tasted shrimp and grits at various restaurants in Charleston, and Oscar’s dish was certainly one of the best in Summerville or anywhere. If you’re looking for a hearty Southern breakfast in Summerville, look no further than the family restaurant, Sunrise Bistro, situated on Old Trolley Rd. My friend ordered a typical southern dish, Fried Boneless Chicken Breast, Biscuits and Gravy, rumored to go back to the early 1800s.
