  • Things to Do in Senegal Travel Guide & Itinerary with Cruise

If you are short on time in Senegal and don’t have time to explore the rest of the country, consider one of these day trips: One of the most popular Senegal attractions, the Lac Rose (Pink Lake), is actually Lac Retba about 30 km (one hour drive) north of Dakar, Senegal’s capital. A couple of day trips from Saint-Louis include the National Park of the Langue de Barbarie, National Park of the Birds of Djoudj (Parc national de la Langue de Barbarie), close to St. Louis on the Atlantic ocean, and mostly composed of dunes, the Ornithological park is known for being turtle nesting ground and for its pelican and flamingo populations. (Parc national des îles de la Madeleine): the small park near Dakar is composed of small volcanic islands and is another Ornithological Bird Reserve.

The Long Walk to DDFT Recovery

Despite our well draining sandy soil, good footing is key for this part of Elf’s rehab as we try to strengthen his body – especially that injured leg. Up until the second week of January, we had slowly added 2 minutes of trotting each week to Elf’s rides until we hit 10 minutes. alternate short days of lunging with Pessoa with long, slow hacks that finish with 10 or 15 minutes of ring work as he’s feeling stronger. I’m generally a minimalist when it comes to training gadgets (although I’m an absolute sucker for super soft fuzzy things), but I know that the weakest part of Elf’s body is his SI/loin connection.

  • What to Do In the Everglades National Park: Airboats Tours & Top Activities

    * Flamingo Visitor Center: This center is about a one-hour drive along the 40-mile (64 -km road from the Ernest Coe visitor center and reached from that same entrance. * Shark Valley Visitor Center: Also located in the north of the park, the entrance is halfway from Miami to Everglades City off the Tamiami Trail (US 41). Many Everglades National Park boat tours offer the ride together with other Besides the airboat, the Everglades National Park offers great outdoor experiences for all. * Shark Valley Visitor Center trails Tram Trail: hike, bike, or ride on the tram!

    Year of Riding

Elf suddenly had foot issues, we moved, had issues with our house, my kiddo’s school asked to skip him a grade and my husband was traveling constantly for work. My goals may not include tackling new levels or making a national list, but I am committed to each ride impacting my horse positively. A massive PR fight started over whether the World Equestrian Center Ocala could host both USEF rated shows and non rated shows that offered competitive experiences to other shows. Moving every 2 or so years as a military family, I can tell you that it is universally challenging to navigate finding good barns & trainers, getting plugged in to local resources and joining the opportunities offered by local organizations.

  • Why Travel to Central Asia in 2021: Countries Top Attractions

If ancient history, Silk Road caravanserai, detailed mosaics, and impressive mosques are what you are looking for, a plan to travel to Central Asia should be high on your list. With unique attractions like the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan, the mosques of Samarkand in Uzbekistan, the burning crater of Turkmenistan, the vast expanse of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan, and the Sharyn Canyon in Kazakhstan, your travel in Central Asia will be full of stunning landscape and ancient history. The Stans,” all the names of these Central Asia countries end with “stan,” a Persian word that means “land. The countries of Central Asia were indeed essential stops along the Silk Road, as nomadic people, merchants, and goods transitted from East Asia to Europe.

  • Things to Know about Bukhara City

Dating back at least 2,000 years, and an important trade post along the Silk Road, Bukhara’s most important history lies in the medieval time as the major intellectual center of the Islamic world. The 16th century Kukeldash Madrasah is the oldest section of the complex, but the 17th century Nadir Divan-Beghi Madrasah, which was initially erected as a caravanserai, is famous for its Phoenix at the top of the portal. The Magak-i Attari Mosque (Magoki Attori mosque or Magok-i-Attari Mosque) was shared by both Muslims and Jews, who came to pray there before the construction of the first synagogue in Bukhara in the 17th century. • A Week as a Cowgirl Horseback Riding in Montana Ranch

Many of the ranches in the US are dude ranches, where guests can enjoy horseback riding with little of the work a working cattle ranch requires. Our stay at the Sweet Grass Ranch did not disappoint, and I still smile when I relive our stay horse riding in Montana. It was important for us to be part of one of these real working cattle ranches in Montana, and we got to see some of that at Sweet Grass Ranch, watching cattle grazing. Many people going to a dude ranch have almost no riding experience, and ranches usually have different horses with different characters suited to all riding levels.

    The Not Quite Rights

his right front shoe was missing, along with a good chunk of foot, and both hind legs were stocked up. I sent a quick text to my very awesome farrier and another to our barn manager before cold hosing Elf’s hind legs. In the afternoon, I came back to wrap up the foot and ice boot the hind legs. or he just happened to pull off his shoe at the same time that his hind legs stocked up in response to the crazy humid heat and very wet ground that we’d been having.

Ride Report - If the Saddle Fits

I want to be able to prioritize short, effective work outs that are building strength and relaxation as Elf and I get back into a routine of riding regularly. He was a little balky, by now sweaty and tense, so we focused on a free and forward walk around the jump field, over a few little obstacles and back around to the barn. Calling it a day gave me the time to really shower him well and spend a little time checking out some skin irritation spots before tucking him in. Between that and this being the first time that Elf has worked 4 times in a week in a long time, it seemed like a good time for a lunge session.

    Celebrating the Senior Horse

Over 30+ years of riding horses, I’ve learned that there is little more valuable in the formation of a rider than the senior horse. From walk trot lessons to moving up a level to learning how manage the evolving needs of an aging partner, our senior horses continue to give. After taking the forced break of Stay-At-Home this year, I decided to tackle a personal project that has been sitting on my “Want You will have the option to purchase digital images and fine art canvas from the session if you’d like.
