Welcome, friend! IN ITS TIME is a lifestyle blog where I share life, photos, and stories and invite you to share your story, too.
Photo by Shelby MillerUnsplash Every time I teach in kids' church, I find myself learning alongside the preschoolers--which I know is one of the many reasons why I've felt led and called to serve at my church in this area. And this past week, I found myself more of a student of this story than a teacher
There were months and brief seasons where I found deep joy in singleness and yet that desire for marriage was still always present, even if it wasn't on the forefront of my brain. The desires for marriage and motherhood would come and go, especially as hormones changed and my loneliness increased. God's changed how I view singleness But I am truly grateful that singleness is where He's called me at this present moment, even if it's not how I would have ever planned for or imagined.
But then I thought back to all of my friends who fasted from social media, or who take a regular sabbath from social media and couldn't think of a reason not to do give it a shot myself. That's not to say that I didn't pridefully think for a moment that I didn't need to do it because I didn't consider myself addicted to social media. I remember a friend told me during one of her social media fasts that she swapped her social media app location on her phone with the Bible app instead. On a typical workday, I'll open up social media before work and then will be on social media here and there until I go to bed.
