What Next for Our New House?

With the sale of our old place finally settled, it’s time to shift our attention to what’s next for our new house. I think I’ve mentioned before, that it’s a former rental that wasn’t very well maintained (and the price we paid reflected that), so it needs a whole lot of lovin’ … So far, we have: * had the interior re-painted and carpeted; * added block out curtains in our bedroom, as well as venetians in some of the windows; * and enclosed the downstairs patio with catnet

My, How Weddings Have Changed!

Following their engagement last year, Miss 22 and her man have started planning for their big day in May 2020. Can it really be thirty years since her father and I were organising our own wedding?! I’ve tried really hard to stay out of it – I don’t want to be a meddling mother of the bride! But the happy couple have turned to us for help, so recently we attended a wedding expo with them

A Sentence A Day – March 2019

After the wedding expo last week, Miss 22 and her man have officially booked the wedding venue at Mt Tamborine for May 2020 – just days before our 30th wedding anniversary! In the evening I headed out to attend a Women’s Network function to commemorate International Women’s Day All exhausted and “over it” by the end of the day, while we were watching MAFS Miss 22 kindly pampered me by painting my nails. Oh and just thought I’d mention that on this day (31 March), 25 years ago, it was my last day at work before going on maternity leave to have Mr-25-Next-Month.

I Never Realised I was an Entrepreneur

Footprints wasn’t a business, it was a labour of love, and I didn’t earn one cent from it. But being a creative isn’t about your output – it’s about your mind, and a creative person has a mind that is constantly bubbling with ideas. Instead, it’s more about climbing over all different sorts of terrain – getting bogged down at times, jumping up on some rocks at others, and often, just plodding along a plateau … but over time, you find yourself on a level that’s considerably higher than when you started. Because let’s face it – even though I long dreamed of starting my own business based around writing, if I hadn’t been made redundant – it would probably never have happened.
