Think Outside the Box!

If you’re a weekend warrior like me, it’s not super difficult because you can eat a lot of sandwiches or cook outside, but if you’re going full timing it, that’s another story! I have a storage rack on one end of the lower kitchen cabinet that holds canned goods and I intend to put some small bins on the other end for fresh food storage. I like to use The Container Store’s Multi-Purpose Bins. If you don’t have a local Container Store (and that’s pretty likely), try taking your kitchen drawers into whichever store you have nearby.

How to Set Up an RV Campsite

(Refer to my list of RV essentials for links) If you’re not fortunate enough to have a hydraulic leveling system like us, manually level the camper tongue (levels front to back), then deploy the jacks beneath the camper (levels side to side). I like to do electricity first since it’s usually hotter than the devil’s toenails in Arkansas (or anywhere else we travel for that matter)! It’s important to note that if you’re dry camping (camping without full hookups), you should either fill up your water tank before leaving home or find out where the park’s water supply is before parking the camper. It’s time to put out the mat to keep dirt from entering the camper, scroll out the awning if you haven’t already, and set up any chairs you’ve brought.

How to Choose the Right RV

I mean, you can do all the research on what to consider when buying RVs and all the different types of RVs, but at some point, you’ll have to bite the bullet and buy one! When you’re trying to choose the right RV, consider borrowing a friend’s. Of course, the fact is most people really don’t know what they want when they are trying to choose the right RV. If you know what your budget is and you know which one sounds good (and you’ve read a TON of reviews), it’s just time to pull the trigger and buy it!

Hot Springs National Park

Hot Springs National Park was originally formed in 1832 as a reserve but was made a national park in 1921 when the National Park Service was formed. If you just have one day to spend in Hot Springs National Park, you need to hike on one of the trails and check out the Fordyce Bathhouse, but you should also stroll around downtown. If you’re a nature lover and have your day downtown marked off of your to-do list, you’ll want to check out one of the many hiking trails near Hot Springs National Park. It’s fun to play in the water park during the heat of the day, shower off and play in the theme park as the sun gets lower, then round the day off with a relaxing evening enjoying some music.
