Road Trip Busy Bags

so I thought I would try a similar but fresh approach for our latest road trip. The first leg of our journey was about a five hour drive and despite the fact that their kindles were sitting next to them they stayed busy with the contents of these bags for the entire ride. The minute I decided I was going to make these Road Trip Busy Bags for the kids The first bit of our drive the kids were entertained by just discovering and sharing with each other what was in their bags.

Seashell Imprint Pendants

That said I always keep a couple activities up my sleeve for those inevitable rainy days or when we just need a break from all heat and excitement. Roll out your salt dough to your desired thickness and cut out circles using a cookie cutter or small glass. We used a bbq skewer and just kind of wiggled it around until I got a hole large enough that I could thread some string or twine through there.5). And thanks again to Safari Ltd. for providing us with the seashells Seashells Toob for this project!

100 Days of Summer

I saw an article back before summer even began about how we only have so many summers with our kids. When I thought about my oldest turning thirteen this year I realized we’ve really only got five summers left with him. With that said, Memorial Day Weekend I started participating in a 100 Days of Summer project. So far this is the first personal project I’ve really stuck with and at this point it looks like I’m going to finish.

Keeping Kids Creative with Fidget Spinners

At this point when something new like this comes along I usually am ok with the kids getting on board and sitting back to see what creative ways my boys will come up with for applying their own twist to said trend. My thirteen year old and five year old have been playing together making charts and graphs to see how long various spinners will spin. We’ve been letting Mr. A try his hand at youtube videos and he’s put together this awesome compilation of creative and challenging ways to try spinning your fidget spinners. (otherwise know as my thirteen year old) Thanks again to Oriental Trading Company for providing us with a few fidget spinners and other goodies to keep these guys entertained, creative &  busy this summer.
