One of the few advantages of being overdue (41 weeks, 5 days) was squeezing an extra date night out of the wait. They generously volunteered to watch not only our two littles, but also the two littles of our friends so that we could go grab an early dinner in town. The four littles stayed at our house, watched movies, played “chase Opa around the house” and had breakfast for dinner featuring Opa’s famous cinnamon waffles. It’s next door to a Belgian beer cafe of the same owners.

So, when Jeff sent me an e-mail asking if I wanted to pick him up from work with the kids to go berry picking I was over the moon. We did get to chat a bit with the owner who continues to stagger planting in the greenhouses hoping to eventually have year-round picking available. We were able to bend the system a bit and buy an extra crate of raspberries while picking. I did not fully check out this area as our hour before closing was eaten up by berry picking, but I plan to return when we have more time.
