Love this quote as I take care of business, remain persistent, and relearn about 'deferred maintenance' because big travel plans are on the horizon. Persistence in this case means you know something's not quite right but 'experts' dismiss your questions. When it's your health there are no silly questions. Remembering Martin Luther King on his birthday. This shot was taken inside the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. I can't express how deeply the collection moved and opened my eyes to our parallel histories in the US. I wish the space were flooded with visitors. As a traveler who works to be compassionate and environmentally aware, I often see the motto, "Protect what you love." Human kindness needs to be part of that equation. It's not transactional. Onward towards the horizon! Amazing that the new year begins soon. I don't do resolutions but love the feeling of a fresh start, a perceived do-over, and letting go of that which no longer serves. Thought we'd be diving but knew rain was in the forecast. Luckily, we were able to pivot and flipped our itinerary from Cabo Pulmo to Todo Santos. Hopefully the weather gods will favor us next week. Having unbooked lodging isn't for the faint-hearted but we've been lucky. When you know weather may be finicky, book where you can cancel easily! Cabo Pulmo closed their diving as the rains began. So, we pivoted and drove north on the only paved road across the lush mountains and found a magical, historical village, Triunfo.
