Dan DeGryse, Director of Rosecrance Florian Program and Battalion Chief of Chicago Fire Department, will participate in the 5th annual Kennedy Forum Meeting as moderator for a roundtable discussion on ‘Supporting First Responders.’ The 5th annual Kennedy Forum Meeting takes place on June 11, 2019 at the Chicago Cultural Center and it leads a national dialogue on transforming the health care system by uniting mental health advocates, business leaders, and government agencies around a common set of principles. The day’s events will focus on the topic of Working Well: Innovative Strategies for Workplace Well-Being as well as offer a Spotlight Series, which will illuminate the tragedies and triumphs of individuals experiencing mental health and substance use disorders. Dan is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP), a Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC), a Certified Labor Assistance Professional (LAP-C), a Certified ARISE Interventionist (CAI) and holds advanced training in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM).
Kelly Epperson, Rosecrance Vice President and General Counsel, and David Gomel, President of Rosecrance Inc., presented at the 41st annual Addiction Treatment Leadership Conference hosted by the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP).The conference was held May 5-7, 2019 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington D. C. Epperson participated in a Quality Assurance panel discussing the topic of billing in behavioral healthcare, including calculating costs, margins, usual and customary rates, balanced billing, toxicology, deductibles and copays. Epperson provides comprehensive legal services to Rosecrance Health Network and its affiliates, including directing corporate activities to protect legal interests; assisting with mergers and acquisitions; analyzing novel legal issues that uniquely impact behavioral healthcare providers; researching and influencing legislative changes at the state and federal levels; and positioning Rosecrance to be a legally sound not-for profit so it can continue to fulfill its mission. Gomel holds a PhD in Public Policy and Administration, with an emphasis in non-profit administration; an MS in Health Service Administration, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Gomel serves on a number of local, state, and national behavioral health committees, non-profit boards and trade organizations and is the current chair of the Illinois Association of Behavioral Health.
Rosecrance recently celebrated recovery with music and stories of hope and healing, at the 2019 Rosecrance Foundation Benefit. Classic-rock band Three Dog Night performed for a crowd of nearly 800 guests at the event, held Monday, April 30, at Giovanni’s Restaurant & Convention Center. Along with the band’s performance, the evening also included remarks from Rosecrance leaders, a premiere of the Rosecrance public television documentary which will air on Success Files with Rob Lowe in coming months, a powerful story of recovery from a former Rosecrance client, and presentation of The Castle Award, Our community – like so many others – has a great need for treatment services, and I am proud to be part of this organization that is a national leader in behavioral health,” said Paula Carynski, Chair of Rosecrance Health Network Board of Directors, during her remarks. The annual benefit has been a tradition for 65 years and is a key fundraiser for Rosecrance in support of The Rosecrance Kinley Fund, which provides funds for Rosecrance programs and charity care to reduce financial barriers to treatment of substance use and mental health disorders.

She has her BA in Psychology from Columbia College and her MS in Psychology with a specialization in Social Psychology from Walden University. Prior to her community relations role she supervised the access department overseeing switchboard, the clinical call center, assessments, and admissions.
