I’m not gonna lie, it has taken YEARS to get Zoe ‘into’ the ballet or dance. She’s just now mature enough to enjoy it, and she even lasted through all 2 and a half hours of Peck and Copland’s “Rodeo” – which was a lot of fun! The Second Movement was my favorite part, and is included as a video at the end of this post.
It’s great to have a husband who is a far better photographer than myself, no? The pix below were taken by E and Z’s dad, and show my kids’ obsession with the public scooter system in DC! We caught the last of the Hirschhorn “Pulse” exhibit before it came down, as well as the new(ish) ‘Obama portraits’ at the National Portrait Gallery. And of course Zoe insisted on a trip to the zoo – since she’s never seen a panda in person (or forgot that she had seen some in this same zoo when she was about 3-4 ys old).
Before I had a week of work here, we spent some weekend time romping at the new District Wharf, and around this pretty city while spring was in full bloom! en route we spotted a momma and her ducklings! Can’t beat playing giant games on the warf in this perfect weather this hotel accepts dogs! friends for Louie and friendly hand nibbles for Zoe
Wow it’s already spring, and there’s been so much improvement in everything. Zoe’s splits and back walkovers are so sharp after a whole winter of practice, and Ezra’s band is sounding so wise and weathered already . And clearly the move into the season of more light and flowers is making it all seem like we are wrapping up the school year already (not so fast, still another quarter of grades to go.. but close? ) Here’s Zoe at her gymnastics competition this Saturday –
