And second, I try really hard to provide Brynlee with healthy foods made with quality ingredients as much as possible, so I’m not fond of the idea of her eating the school’s highly processed lunch. What I really think Brynlee wants is one of those “magic” cards that allows her to go up and buy her own lunch, I sent her with money to buy a chocolate milk to go with her packed lunch hoping that would work, but she still came home asking to have school lunch the next day. From the top, lunch boxes are PBKids, Purple and Blue Bentgo (also here), Ziploc 3 compartment (I found them at Target for less, but wasn’t able to find them on target.com, I did find this similar one from Up & Up for the same price I paid), I also bought pink forks and spoons for her lunches from Target to make it more fun! And lastly, not pictured are these small storage containers that I use for Brynlee’s snacks so they don’t get crushed in a plastic baggie
Now I drop Brynlee off at school, head over to the gym and let Lincoln go play in their child care center. They have a movie theater room, a bounce house room, a miniature basketball court, a video game room and a large open play space filled with toys and play kitchens and train tables, all of which gets cleaned and sanitized every single night. Plus all of the cardio equipment have T. V.’s that you can turn on to watch the monitor in the child care center so you can check in on your child at any time. (why, oh why can’t they do 1/2 day Kindergarten here! ? ! ? ! ? ! ), but I am really learning to appreciate my time to myself each day while she is at school and Lincoln is napping.
We had our neighbors over for an impromptu BBQ this past weekend, I bought a 3 lb pork loin that served 10 people with plenty of left overs. Onion (I usually use yellow, but any will do, red would probably be great too) BBQ Sauce (We like Famous Dave’s Add your shredded pork back to the slow cooker and stir in 1-2 cups of BBQ sauce, depending on the size of your pork loin (I used about 1.5 cups for 3 lbs) you want to make sure the pork is coated, but not overly soggy. 2, Brynlee request Mac and Cheese in her lunch on this day, I also included Watermelon and for her snack Snap Pea Crisps. Tuesday: PB&J (I used this heart shaped sandwich cutter and Brynlee loved it), along with Snap Pea Crisps, Carrots with Hummus and Trail Mix.
