Now that we’re well into 2018 and all of those lofty goals and resolutions are starting to drift away (hey, we get it), it’s a great time to reevaluate your health and wellness. It’s because you can’t function the same when you’re not at your best, and clearly, you need oxygen to be at your best. Here’s a great YouTube video that explains the science to support this “Put your oxygen mask on before you help younger children … because then you’re able to have the mental awareness to be able to save yourself … and to save others. You and your buddy should set monthly or quarterly check-ins to discuss goals, fears, intentions, etc. to remain accountable and make progress toward achieving your goals.
With a retreat coming up this fall in beautiful Nicaragua, we thought we’d put together a guide for anyone that might be considering going on an adventure that might change their life. We know opening your mind could open you up to realizations that can be surprising. You don’t need to pack this because you’re probably wearing it the moment you leave the house! We can help you unpack that adventurous spirit whenever you’re ready.
Enjoy six days of sun, surf and serenity with Austin-based yoga instructor Gigi Mao. We shared a vision: to incorporate mindfulness practices such as yoga and meditation into global adventures where we explore new places and experience new people and cultures in a way that is conducive to our personal growth, beneficial to the local community, and sustainable for the planet. We practice yoga outdoors during the retreat. We slow down, our breathing becomes calmer and more harmonious, and we are able to pay attention and observe our whole experience – internal and external – with more ease.
I was sitting in the boarding lounge in Hong Kong at 9:00 pm on a layover waiting for a late night flight to Hangzhou, where I’d be checking in to a hotel and resting up to start work bright and early the next morning. I called up my sister who I’d be meeting the next day, and over the background noise found out that she was in Shanghai having the time of her life with her Entrepreneur’s Organization crew at the Formula 1 weekend. If it’s fear of engaging in an activity that doesn’t actually hold the risk of killing you, it’s probably not. When you’re fully open to what’s happening around you, you’d be surprised at what’s possible.
