Instagram is a visual search engine, and if you work in the travel industry, it is one of the easiest ways cultivate future customers. Like any other social platform, LinkedIn is about engaging with other community members in your niche and providing helpful content for your would-be customers.
We send thousands of students a year on trips around the world, but a majority of our groups travel to the same regions—major cities within western Europe or the United States (which, don’t get me wrong, are all worthy destinations to visit). Most Chinese cities have lower crime rates than major cities back at home, and I never felt unsafe walking home alone at night. If you want to experience the vibrant culture of China, but are a little hesitant to dive into a more traditional city like Beijing, dip your toes in and head to Shanghai. there are plenty of free historical walking tours led by locals to familiarize yourself with each neighborhood of the city and learn about South Africa’s checkered past.
In light of the recent and ongoing government shutdown, many groups traveling have experienced longer than usual wait times at airports across the country. Although TSA is considered “essential personnel” and required to report to work during government shutdowns, we have received many reports that airports are understaff and wait times have increased significantly. Two dynamic, charismatic women joined the ATG team and they brought a whole lot of energy to our Orlando office. Originally from Puerto Rico and Argentina respectively, Myrta and Paula have made their way to central Florida (as so many of us do) to share their group airfare expertise and love of travel with our clients. Paula is currently managing a 5,000 person group heading to Peru in 2019 and Myrta has taken on dozens of clients during one of our busiest times of year.
