We checked out the sale earlier this week to find both men and women’s merchandise. Highlights include sweaters ($175), sweatshirts ($85) and t-shirts ($60) with the brand’s iconic fox logo. We spotted quite a number of canvas sneakers ($95) and a few leather shoes ($250) such as a classic black leather loafer for women, which appeared to have a range of sizes. Of note, Maison Kitsuné new creative director is ex-Celine Designer Yuni Ahn who previously design director under Phoebe Philo.
The Marc Jacobs sample sale opens to the public today and goes through this Sunday, April 7th. The sale is taking place at 260 Sample Sale’s 150 Greene Street location in Soho. Examples include a long black leather skirt (retail $1,800), special event black silk taffeta jacket (retail $3,000), exotic skin coat (retail $6,000+), a fur coat (retail $7,500). A bucket quilted leather Collection bag that caught our eye was on sale for $400+.
The Proenza Schouler sample sale at 151 Wooster Street in Soho goes through this Sunday, March 31st. But we got the price list below and the main photo from sale organizers, 260 SampleSale. The bags were annoyingly priced at 50% to 60% off retail price which meant you had to ask a sales associate to scan the retail tag to get the sale price. The pricing of the clothing translated to about 70% off retail but it was still pricey (see price list pic).
If you’re familiar with cult retailers, Need Supply and Totokaelo, then you’d be excited about this sample sale which opens to the public today and goes thru this Sunday, March 31. Need Supply Co. is a clothing and lifestyle store based out of Richmond, Virginia, started by selling vintage Levi’s in 1996 but has since grown to offer hip and well-curated men’s and women’s clothing and accessories. We spotted a large Rick Owns crossbody, several Mansur Gavriel bags and a forest green suede Lemaire shoulder tote which we were tempted to snatch up as well as the Mansur Gavriel but in the end put them back. Price for handbags regardless of size: $300, which was not a great price for some bags such as a Mansur Gavriel small hobo which retailed for $495.
