Last week I visited Happy Place, an installation made specifically for people to take Instagram photos. Here’s how it works
From left to right: 1) Reading about cremation, per usual. A new mural up at Simmons University. 4) Checking out the new Happy Place Instagram installation. I'm Celina, a Boston-based art reporter with a penchant for leather jackets, travel adventures, and Russian novels.
While in Portsmouth to preview restaurant week meals I had the pleasure of staying at the Water Street Inn. The photo above is the view from my window looking out over the bridge and the water towards Portsmouth. One of the great things about the Water Street Inn is that it’s very friendly to savvy (or introverted) travelers. Please note: I was provided with a complimentary stay at the Water Street Inn, however, all opinions expressed are my own.
It’s really creepy and cool and gives you a sense of a Venice that doesn’t exist anymore. It’s a memoir style book about the author’s experience working at the Pine Street Inn, one of Boston’s best known homeless shelters. It’s a fast, energetic read and provides some insight into the homeless experience and the challenge of balancing your own needs with those of a deteriorating loved one. On Black Sister’s Street was beautifully written but it’s definitely tough subject matter.
