In this enthralling sequel to Kendare Blake’s New York Times bestselling Three Dark Crowns, Fennbirn’s deadliest queens must face the one thing standing in their way of the crown: each other. It’s not like there is /heavy/ action throughout the whole book, but there is certainly something always happening, and then the big scenes, but I found that the little somethings get you hooked in the story just as well. My reading experience was quite controversial, though: I found this book to be more real and raw than its precedent, especially because it was way darker (there is a slight difference from what was considered ‘dark’ in the previous book); but, at the same time, I felt that some scenes were lacking some mystery to it. The final chapter, while not as impactful as the last chapter on the first book was, was equally surprising and got me excited for the next and third book in the series!
I’m writing a wrap-up a day before it’s supposed to go up, but it’s alright, seeing I’ll be extra busy this weekend and will likely have zero time to finish another book by tomorrow 😭 March was way busier than I thought it would be! March wasn’t a great reading month in quantity, but it definitely made up for it in quality! This book got me captured from the very beginning, and even though it was a slow read for me (it took me twenty-three days to finish it), I just wanted to keep reading and reading and reading. And hopefully, I’ll be able to keep up with my blog posts and also open some slots on my Sensitivity Reading project (if you’d like to apply, check this page).
Around here is a mess, some days it’s warm, then freezing cold then it’s back to warm, so it’s that lovely time when I never know how to dress and always end up getting sick 😅 To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, by Jenny Han 🔖 Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda, by Becky Albertalli TO ALL THE BOYS I’VE LOVED BEFORE I couldn’t make this list without adding To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before!
