The old-school rationale behind toners is that it is pH balancing, intended to balance out your skin after cleansing. Nowadays, skin care companies are much better at formulating cleansers to be nonstripping (unless you’re still using a drugstore cleanser like Clean & Clear, Neutrogena, Aveeno, etc.), so that pH balancing step shouldn’t be necessary. So, toners aren’t crucial, and aren’t something you need to be thinking about if you’re happy with your skin and trying to keep things uber simple. Based on the bottle, you can either spray it directly onto your face, spray/pour it onto a cotton pad and wipe all over face, or apply directly into our hands and pat into skin.
I love my PMD Clean ($$$$), but you can also use this more affordable option ($$$) or, for even less, this one ($$), or these little guys ($).
