The Hable Way

Different types of immersive art installations and experiences have been around for decades but have recently regained a lot of traction! My first experience with immersive art on such a large scale was in Santa Fe, New Mexico at Meow Wolf. Though this industry, like many, had a difficult year, they are a resilient bunch of creative minds and have an incredible vision for the future. I compiled a list of remarkable immersive art installations to keep your eye on in the coming year if you are interested in experiencing this incredible type of art!

However, It will be the most distant road trip we have ever taken!To make it easier, I prepared a list of survival tips for the whole family to utilize on the trip from Virginia to California. On even the smallest road trips, we make sure to give the kids a chance to put their favorite toys, books, and stuffed animals in a backpack to keep with them in the car. DON’T park the car right next to a storm drain or it will suck those favorite items right out of existence with no chance of survival. Save these tips for the next time you are headed out for a long road trip!

Based on the number of belongings we shed while preparing for this move, we are currently leaning towards PODS or Pack-Rat. there which puts us at a little over 6,500 lbs to work with if we use PODS and 8,500 lbs if we use Pack-Rat. Now, with PODS and the extra fee of the U-Haul trailer, the total will be closer to Pack-Rat. Either way, we will utilize a U-Haul trailer to keep some of our important items with us instead of in a storage container that I can’t keep track of!

What if I don’t like it?This is such a great work experience for Kyle and life experience for all of us. Companies like Houzeo have plans where they will put your house on MLS for a flat fee and assist in a variety of different ways depending on your plan level. The top items on this list of hurdles are Asher’s schooling, our dog, and finding the right company to move our stuff across the country. Kyle has been to our destination on a few occasions but he is not allowed to pick a place to live without me ever again due to the great housing debacle of 2012!
