In my honest opinion, Almaty is the most beautiful city in Central Asia and was the very first town that I have traveled to. Some facts about the city of Almaty Almaty (formerly known as Alma-Ata) is the largest city in Kazakhstan and despite losing its status as the capital to Astana, Almaty remains the major commercial and cultural center of Kazakhstan. Almaty is loaded with extremely friendly people (which are much more friendlier that people in some other Republics of the former Soviet Union), beautiful parks, dozens of world class shopping malls, hundreds of restaurants, cafes and public markets (bazaars) and many many other kinds of places where tourists can fulfill their entertainment thirsts. In 2003, the government of Kazakhstan laid out a new development initiative which included government funds for continued construction on the metro and by 2005 the project has restarted.
Probably the biggest reason that I have picked to visit the city of Athens out of countless destinations was that Athens were hosting Summer Olympics in just a week The person responsible for giving Olympics the second chance was Frenchman named Baron de Coubertin who offered to host first Olympics in 1900 in his native Paris, but the delegates from 34 countries agreed to move the Games to 1896 and chose Athens to be the first host city. After my sightseeing tour was over, I started to ramble through the city on my own to fulfill my curiosity regarding Athenians’ attitude toward hosting Olympics and off course to learn about the city of Athens as much as I possibly could in several remaining hours before the next flight. On the other side, I expected the Athenians be super excited and enthusiastic about their own city hosting Olympics for the first time in more than hundred years but most people that I have seen were anything but excited about the GAMES.
I consider myself as fairly experienced driver but I probably would not drive very far in the city of New Delhi without scratching someone’s car or getting into some kind of accident. During our four days in New Delhi, we took taxi multiple times to drive around the city, primarily because it was extremely hot to walk on the streets during the day from very early morning to very late evening because the temperature during that period was over 40 degrees °C. Without a doubt the highlight of our tour to India, was a day long trip to Taj Mahal which is located in the city of Agra roughly 230 kilometers from New Delhi. The city of New Delhi is at once beautiful, unique, rich and poor, new and ancient, vibrant and chaotic at times but at the same time full of calm places.
But after I have already booked airlines tickets for four day trip and started to plan a schedule, I have learned about few more attractive places to visit like Dubai Signing Fountains, Dubai Mall, Ski Dubai which is indoor ski resort and few others. During our 4 day stay, we have attempted to visit as many places as possible, absorb as much information as possible related to those tourist attractions and at the same time tried to talk to locals about every day life aspects like local government, job security, salary, safety, food, future of the country and many others. I remember that during my first visit to Rome, I didn't visit Coliseum which is the Rome's number one attraction. So during one of the phone conversation with my future wife, I have informed her about my plans to visit Coliseum that day and she asked to skip it and offered an idea to visit Rome again later and take a tour to Coliseum when we will get married.
