i permed my hair!

and while i’ve put my hair through several chops and styles and even shades (anyone remember when i tried to be blonde by way of platinum a few years back? ! ) i can’t even count how many times over the years i’ve asked different hair people about perms. then, somewhere in the midst of realizing growing out my hair (and particularly my bangs) just wasn’t going to happen for me as i began the process, i mentioned my dream of having a perm to my friend pulled out my favorite fun outfit that conrad calls “my pajama outfit”.

twin essentials! what you need for two babies!

but they keep proving to be wonderful babies each day, with such curious and joyful personalities, with much patience for me as i try to juggle them both, and with smiles and giggles that make me melt all the day long – which helps the nights of little sleep seem like not that big of a deal (although really, i guess that depends on what hour of the day you’re asking). , i broke this down in the first 6 months of products and gear, and will share a part 2 focusing on everything for 6-12 months after they are 1. 0-6 months, what you really need for twins! but for us, the comfortable stroller seats really help our kids to nap on the go (important over here since we have older kids and often aren’t able to go back and forth to the apartment for nap-time, and there are always things to do out around the city even without the older kids). some of our favorite zip up onesies include these in all the fun colors and also these ones in the darling prints (i am especially a sucker for the lemon print.) for summer months, we have found these shade hats to be the best because of they stay on with a tie and they cover the back of the neck as well. for winter months when you are outside in freezing temperatures, we love and trust the down bunting by patagonia to keep the babies warm, which the girls really lived in this last winter, as well as the cozy fleece bunting option for cooler days where full coats aren’t quite needed.

april, proving to be the best month ever.

not that it was less bustling or busy in the winter months, but everyone isn’t just moving in a sea of black coats with their heads down and their headphones in, from destination start to destination finish. i swear our eyes meet more, and smiles are exchanged as we cross paths walking a little bit more freely from destination start to destination finish. at a time when i’m not sure if i can hold on any longer, to another day in puffy jackets with frozen ankles (still hate socks) and days where it gets dark around 4 in the afternoon. and so yes, since i’m a firm believer in the love language of affirmations, i’ll just keep thanking her over and over again for what she brings into my soul this time of year, and keep mumbling under my breath as well as to anyone beside me every few seconds, “she’s here!

when they lick their toys...

with a winter that has felt somewhat never-ending at times (hi, looking right at you, all-of-january), i’m rather surprised that our household has fought off any flus or stomach bugs or major illnesses this season, something i have felt rather stressed about at times with two new babies in our home now crawling and discovering things with their little grasps and mouths all day long. a few things we’ve been diligent about over here this winter has been frequent hand washing (and hand sanitizer when a sink is not nearby), keeping shoes off indoors and changing our clothing from the day if we’re about to climb onto our beds (especially if we’ve been at the playground, or school, or any other publicly occupied spaces). and i’m excited to share a little bit about seventh generation’s disinfectant spray, where no rinse is required, even on food contact surfaces and children’s toys, which makes cleaning each and every duplo, building block, and all hard-surface toys in-between very doable over here (and dare i even say, fun? ! ) we have been long time fans of seventh generation’s products, and the new disinfectant spray is high up there on my list of why i choose and continue to choose seventh generation products for my home.
