Little things that I could think of or little actions I could do every day to improve my well being over time, rather than just working toward one end result (and usually being disappointed with my lack of progress). I realize that we’re already months into the new year, but I wanted to share my daily reminders, in hopes that these little reminders may inspire you to feel better daily, even in the smallest of ways. These are a mix of actual things to do, read more / drink more water / save more, and mental notes for myself – be kind / nourish my body / put myself first. None of these are habits that will be made over night, but over time, I know these little things will help me better myself inside and out.
To get back into the swing of things, I decided I wanted to give a life update and talk about some things that have been making me happy. I’ve written about this a little bit on the blog before, but it’s become such a large part of my daily life Over the course of the last year, I’ve traveled to new places, tried new things like paddleboarding and skiing, and pushed myself to new limits. I’ve been trying to make space in my life for the things that actually matter, which includes a combination of everything on my list.
When I first started my blog, I came up with a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days, a list inspired by Mackenzie Horan. , Today Will Be Different by Maria Semple, Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone by J. K. Rowling, SweetBitter by Stephanie Danler, Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris, Disrupted by Dan Lyons, The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur –Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese (10/11/15), Caramel Apple Pie Cookies (10/10/15), Apple Crisp (10/10/15), Chocolate Peppermint Cookies (12/24/15), Chicken Fajita Quesadillas, Avocado Fries, Lemon Pepper Chicken Risotto, Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookies, Creamy Broccoli, Bacon, and Chicken Pasta, Casa Corona (Marblehead, MA), Toscano (Harvard Square, MA), Howling Wolf (Salem, MA), Cho Sun Sushi Restaurant (Newry, ME), Antique Table (Swampscott, MA), Caffe Italia (Marblehead, MA), Granary Tavern (Boston, MA), Jacks Wife Freda (NYC), 12 Chairs Cafe (NYC), Rockefeller Center Cafe (NYC), Soall Bistro (Marblehead, MA), Salem Beer Works (Salem, MA), Tatte Bakery (Brookline, MA), Mission (Washington, DC), Ted’s Bulletin (Washington, DC), Policy (Washington, DC), Barcelona (Boston, MA), Les Zygomates (Boston, MA), Paradiso Ristorante (Swampscott, MA),
If you asked me a year ago where I thought my life would be today, my answer would have been wildly different from where I actually ended up. I was hanging out with my friends nearly every weekend, falling more in love with working out, dating new people, and enjoying life as a single 20-something in Boston. I’ve been able to build connections and relationships with people who fill my life with positivity. Maybe a year ago I never would have imagined my life as it is now, but I’m pretty happy that this is where my life ended up.
