Sophie's personal blog. I am a storyteller - I want to share my experiences with people who are willing to read them.
Part three of my Japan exploration trip is here! (Click here to read part 1 and part 2!) Last I left from the previous blog post, my friends and I were in Osaka getting ready to go to Kyoto. We woke up to a slow morning and eventually made our way to Kyoto from Osaka via the express train
We made our way to our hostel, Osaka Hana Hostel, where we dropped off our luggage and went to a nearby Mo’s Burgers for some breakfast: Naturally, we bought one each: Armed with bags of Tokyu Hands goods, Kawachi goods, and strawberry daifuku, we headed back to the hostel and checked in our room: Futon beds are the best! Along the way, we saw a store that only sold strawberry goods, and (still on a high note from the strawberry daifuku earlier) we bought some delicious treats for dessert later on. After dinner, we walked around Dotonburi when I suggested that we look for Lord Stowe’s Bakery as they sold different flavors in Japan (whereas in the Philippines, only the original egg tart is sold! )
After waking up and getting ready for the day, we headed out to the nearby Yoshinoya for breakfast: With our stomachs full, we made our way to Nagoya Castle! We found a nearby Indian curry and naan place and decided to have their lunch set (even if it was 3:00PM.) We stayed until the aquarium closed and decided to have a curry dinner (yes, we ate curry for two days in a row) at the neighboring food hall beside the aquarium: I’d want to visit the area again in the future and visit other places like the Toyota Museum and the Nagoya Tower—until next time, Nagoya!
The ice cream that arrived were all random and I arranged for it to be delivered on the first day it was available; so every 21st of the month, I got two pints of ice cream from Papa Didi Less than two weeks later, the pint of ice cream turned empty and I found myself eagerly waiting for next month’s flavor. Unfortunately, I couldn’t keep up this ice cream subscription forever, so when the final month of my subscription arrived, it was a bittersweet delivery. Php 625 a month for a six-month subscription, Php 600 a month for a nine-month subscription, and Php 550 a month for a year.
