THE FASHION ACHE: Shortlisted by Cosmopolitan Magazine for Best Established Fashion Blog 2013 and 'Best for Fashion' 2015..WARNING: will cause shopping!
If you read THE FASHION ACHE on a regular basis, you'll know I've got a huge soft spot for Farfetch . You know the kind: where you end up heading over to the site at least once a day to peruse the 'NEW IN' section and to fill up your basket with all kinds of delicious glossy things that I can't actually afford (but would). Plus, with the arrival of their Style Guide (that contains all kinds of glorious style inspiration and sartorial ideas) you'll never need to venture anywhere else...
Happily, we're all currently sweating it out in a bit of a heat wave (hurrah/finally), and I'm so delighted that the warm weather has finally arrived that I don't care that my make-up keeps sliding off my face as I sit typing away at my desk! *all items marked with an asterisk are gifted* #3 Say hello to number three, the epic Say hello to number three, the epic Illuminating Strobe Creams * from Barry M Cosmetics . Having introduced a smaller RTW capsule line for SS16 - a sign of things to come - it's pretty awesome to know that you can now wear Charlotte Mills every day, for any occasion (even if it's just popping to the freezer aisle in your local supermarket). The new line flaunts gorgeous metallics, candy-twist heels and straps, flirty ruffle details, a pair of pink glittery platforms that will send you into a shoe-inspired frenzy and ankle boots perfect for pairing with your favourite skinny jeans. Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue and a silver sixpence in her shoe. Happily, Charlotte has included the sixpence (but with a 18ct rose-gold plated twist) in the new RTW collection as it's a symbol of luck and part of the label's incredible identity.
The illustrator's delicious witty visual puns have caused a stir in the fashion industry since she started posting them on Instagram and has since collaborated with the likes of Vogue, Net-a-Porter and Yoox and been featured in the New York Times, Bazaar US and Vogue UK. I'm completely besotted with this nifty little number which delights in bringing humour to the high-end brands we know and love in the fashion world, as well as the who's who of the industry. The illustrator has included six categories within the coffee-table must-have, covering Fashion Week, Fashion Fanfiction, Impossible Collaborations (a favourite of mine), Sartorial Supermarket, Artistic Licence and High-powered Hybrids. Prepare to discover haute couture like you've never seen it, and delight in the foreword by the one and only Hamish Bowles, Vogue's International Editor-at-large.
