Open to the public every day from 10 AM to 5 PM except on Saturdays from 10 AM to 6 PM. In a convenient location, the children’s museum is in the basement of the Moody Mansion and it’s open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 AM to 5 PM and Sunday 12 PM to 5 PM, close on Mondays. Open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM (6 PM during summer months). The library is open Monday-Thursday from 9 AM to 9 PM, Friday and Saturdays from 9 AM to 6 PM and closed on Sundays.
Established about 50 miles south of Houston, the city of Galveston TX is located in Galveston Island, a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico. Also, some of the indigents that died on some of the Galveston’s unfortunate disasters back in the 1800’s and 1900’s. With some of the same amenities as Stewart beach, East beach is a favorite for the party people, with a stage to host concerts and a beach bar, this is the only beach in Galveston that allows alcohol consumption. Located on the west end of the island, the Galveston Island state park offers great opportunities for fishing, crabbing and kayaking on the bayside.
The livestock show, being the biggest indoor show and the greatest exhibition in the world, brings representatives from many countries and contributes to a large amount of the funds raised at the Houston livestock show and rodeo. The way this competition works is, the cowboy needs to lasso the calf, then jump from the horse and tie 3 of the steer’s legs and raise his hand to stop the clock. There is an array of shopping opportunities around the NRG park, some indoor (NRG center, NRG arena and NRG stadium) and some outdoor as well (Lone Star market, located between the astrodome and NRG stadium). It’s a competition that goes on during HLSR, the singers compete in three categories, Junior Division (ages 6 to 15), Senior Division (ages 16 to 21) and Group Division (ages 6 to 21).
no further – South Padre Island (SPI) is a great family summer vacation spot. South Padre Island is a barrier island located along the Texas Gulf Coast in the Brownsville-Harlingen metro area and the only tropical island in Texas. Isla Grand Beach Resort is an outstanding resort right on the gulf with lots of conveniences and amenities including a gift shop, tennis court, volleyball court, two swimming pools and many others. There are plenty of beach shops that offer cute mementos of your stay on South Padre Island.
