We believe that cats can live happy, healthy lives fueled by nature!
These tips are geared towards cats who live outdoors full-time—ferals, barn cats, and former strays or ferals who can’t stand to stay inside. Most cats who wander away from their home and get attacked by wild animals, dogs, or other cats are intact. There’s nothing you can do to guarantee that a coyote won’t catch your outdoor cat, but you can do your best to make your yard less inviting. Again, there’s no simple trick that will make the outdoors a safe place for cats.
If your cat won’t settle for less than a cleaning after every use, consider investing in an automatic-cleaning litter box like the Litter Robot. Cats aren’t just choosy about how clean their litter box is, they also have litter box design and placement preferences. The covered litter box keeps the odor away from your nose but builds up inside the litter box and makes using the toilet a stinky experience for your cat. ❑ Make sure you’re keeping your cat’s litter box super-clean and using a litter he likes.
Your vet knows your cat and is experienced dealing with other diabetic kitties, so you won’t have to worry that your cat isn’t receiving thoughtful expert care. Non-veterinary boarding facilities will provide diabetic care to some extent, but most aren’t staffed 24 hours a day and some have limited expertise on and an understanding of feline diabetes. Appropriate boarding facilities will ask if your cat is a stable diabetic, which type of insulin you use, when and how frequently you administer insulin, and which types of food your cat eats. If you’d rather let your cat stay at home while you’re away, you’ll need to hire a pet sitter or ask a friend to come into your house and care for your cat.
When iPrimio reached out to us to ask if we’d like to review the iPrimio Cat Litter Trapper EZ Clean Mat, we were already familiar with the litter mat. The first thing that impressed me when I removed the iPrimio litter mat from the box was that it’s big. We only tested the iPrimio litter mat with small-grained clay litter, but I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t work with most other types of cat litter. If you’re looking for a jumbo-sized cat litter mat that’s easy-to-clean and ready for big messes, the iPrimio litter mat is an excellent choice.
