Marc is crafting two versions of the game’s soundtrack: one through his normal composing process and another designed to reduce the impact for those suffering from a sensory processing disorder related to sounds and music. During GDC 2019, Marc opened up channels to take on feedback related to SPD-related auditory triggers and received feedback from about 50 people, with some extra help from Adriane Kuzminski in streamlining a process to tackle the effort. Marc explains that he’s able to tap into his background in developing horror music, like those found in horror games or seasonal haunted houses, but have a bit of fun with it. Avoiding high-velocity notes, like when you hit a piano key rather hard, is a good one he says he’s using in the few instances where those C6 or higher notes do come into the soundtrack.
What AbleGamers Has Been Up To For May 2019 AbleGamers has had another busy month! The Steel City Showdown, which took place on May 10th-12th, took place at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, featuring three franchises coming together for the event. In attendance besides AbleGamers staff and their accessible technology was the Pittsburgh Knights, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and many competitors competing for cash prizes in NBA 2k, NHL 2k, and Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. Special thanks goes out to the staff of the Playhouse, the Pittsburgh Penguins, Point Park University, the Cavs Legion GC, the Pittsburgh Knights, everyone who stopped by the booth as well as all of the supporters of AbleGamers whom without their help, this wouldn’t have been possible.
Wolf’s work is keeping the Sculptor safe and at peace, while the Sculptor is keeping Wolf equipped for his quests. Instead it’s the emotionally shattered Wolf who becomes the demon of hatred, his prosthetic wreathed in flame. If instead Wolf follows his young lord’s plans entirely, he becomes like the Sculptor in a more profound way. He keeps the prosthetic tucked away in the shrine, in case another disabled person needs it someday.
Our Services Accessible Technology Day at MIT and Helping to Break Social Isolation Home / AbleGamers Blog / Accessible Technology Day at MIT and Helping to Break Social Isolation Accessible Technology Day at MIT and Helping to Break Social Isolation Teachers, students, and families were able to get a glimpse of accessible technology during the Cambridge Science Festival. Partners from different areas of inclusive design came together for MIT Museum’s Accessible Technology Day to showcase what’s out there today and what may be possible in the near future. The Accessible Technology Day that AbleGamers took part in showed that technology of all sorts can be used to break social isolation. While in certain parts of the world robot technology is used to break through those obstatcles, AbleGamers is doing similar work at home with accessible gaming technology.
