If you’re hesitant to introduce mobile scoring apps to your golf outing, it’s time to reconsider. One common argument against using mobile scorecard apps for a golf outing is that not everyone has a smartphone, and/or older players won’t be able to figure it out. Some mobile scoring apps will let you add sponsor names to each hole, providing greater visibility to the biggest revenue generator of most outings. Not Just Any App Will Do Before signing up for any old golf outing mobile scoring app, make sure it’s going to give you and your golfers the best experience.

Establish a tee box, and then 25 feet or so away draw a circle 2-3 feet in diameter. Charge golfers a small fee to try to get the little plastic golf ball into the white circle. Using a Fisher Price golf club and Wiffle golf ball, golfers pay a specific amount of money for an attempt at hitting the Wiffle golf ball over a home run line. Next, draw one circle around the hole 6 feet in diameter, and then a second circle 12 feet in diameter (You may want to ask the course owner for permission first).

But there will come a day when I can marry my two loves, and bring my kids to the golf course. At that point, the challenge you’ll face as a golf course owner/manager is trying to get me to pay full price for three golfers. If my kids were golfing age, Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville, a part of the Cleveland Metroparks, would have made this decision easy. But bring family and golf together, and you’ll be surprised how often I make an excuse to take the kids to the course.
